Last forever and a day
Bought my first Estwing over 40 years ago working a true value hardware store. A16 oz claw hammer. Then a 3 lb drilling hammer around 15 years ago. Both still strong and only real wear is paint missing. So with that said it’s why I decided to get this hammer and a 4 lb sledge as well. The new ones aren’t that far off in quality compared to the old hammers so they should last longer than me. The old ones do seem better though. I know they are expensive but it is the last one of that type hammer you’ll need to get unless it grows legs.BUT. A fiberglass handled hammer deals with felt shock a lot better then these..so does a wooden handled one…that to me is their only downside despite their excellent grip. The grip is a firmer material on my older hammers so the new grips might be better. Haven’t used enough to say.

Great quality
It's more expensive than wood handle hammers, but you'll never need to worry about the head coming loose or flying off. The one-piece steel design does make it heavier than wood handled, so keep that in mind when ordering. It feels closer to 40oz than 32oz in the hand. The handle grip is comfortable to use and does a good job of not transferring vibration and shock to the hands. The sides of the shaft are not painted on mine, just polished a bit. I was kinda hoping it would be, to guard against rust, but it's not that big of a deal.

Awesome hammer
Bought one for work, I really like the feel of handle and above all, love the solid feel when hammering, bought another for home.

Made in USA. Great quality
The best. The small 8oz makes it a specialty hammer but for automotive work I use this A LOT.
