Is the warranty 12m as stated by amazon (which they also confirmed by email to me) or 3y as normally offered by WD?

Just a point of note - I had one of these very recently replaced under warrant by WD after 20 months - they sent me a replacement after a couple of weeks - but you should be aware they send recertified drives and not those with the WD red stickers but recertified stickers - so you get lower grade drives from WD under warranty

NOTE: These are shipping without the three year warranty. WD website says 'OUT OF REGION'.

Just to confirm that the OEM drives sold by Amazon only have a 12 month warranty. Western Digital Support are refusing to honour the 3 year warranty on a drive I purchased directly from Amazon (Amazon EU S.a.r.l.) in September 2015. BUYER BEWARE!

Why is only 1.99TB available? I can't allocate the rest.

It depends how the drive has been partitioned. To see the full size of the drive with one partition you need to partition the drive using GPT. You can then format it with NTFS, EXT or whatever you fancy. Alternatively you can use the traditional MBR partitioning style and allocate a maximum of 2GB to each partition.

Is this drive okay to use in a PC, or only in an NAS?

Perfectly fine to use in a PC, it's designed for continuous use hence why it's targeted at the NAS
