Professional quality paper is what makes a good finished piece.
I'm a professional children's book illustrator. I admit that this paper can seem pricey, but this is good paper for inks and it makes all the difference in the finish of my work. Rough paper has ruined the outcome of plenty of my early sketches with smudges and fuzzy ink lines. This paper gives ink lines a crisp look and is sturdy enough to take the pencil and eraser work you have to do. It responds well to a light touch so you can get very nice gradients out of it even with your standard number 2 school pencils. Quality finished art pieces are many times more about the paper and skill than the tool. Put more money in the paper than the tool if you have to choose.

Great Quality Paper
I have used this brand of paper for years. I absolutely love their drawing paper because it can handle more than just charcoal, graphite, pen ink. I like to spray my graphite drawings to get a dripping effect. This paper handles quite a bit of spray water. The performance of this paper is exceptional and the weight is comparable to like brands. The value for the price is only one of the reasons I love it. I also love how well my graphite pencils blend on this paper. I can get really beautiful shades color. It also handles my aggressive erasing of mistakes.

Excellent Quality for Charcoal Work
I purchased this art paper for a class and have been really impressed! The weight is perfect…sturdy enough to handle multiple layers of charcoal without tearing, warping, or buckling. It has just the right amount of tooth to grip the medium well, but it’s still smooth enough to allow for subtle shading and blending. It came packaged neatly and flat, with no creases or bent edges, which is always a plus. Highly recommend this paper for any artist working with charcoal, graphite, or even pastel. It’s held up beautifully through erasing, layering, and heavy shading, as you can see in my still life drawing. Great value for the price and easy to use. I’ll definitely be repurchasing!

Nice quality paper
Good quality paper. The pad is large, but thin and bends easily, although that is probably to be expected.

Decent paper quality
Good price and decent quality although a little curling happened at the corners during rework.
