Hon&Guan 3 in Soffit Exhaust Vent, Dryer Vent Cover Round 3 Inch Vent Cover with Built-in a Fly Screen for Bathroom Office Home (ø75mm)

I needed a way to ventilate a small, cheap greenhouse with a poly cover and one door. I outlined the small end of the vent on cardboard which I then used to cut a 1/4 inch SMALLER circle. (So the vent would fit snugly when attached.) I then traced it onto the greenhouse plastic cover. I punched a small hole in the middle of the tracing using scissors then cut from the the middle out into what would look like a ‘plus’ sign, leaving the flaps attached. In between each previous cut, I made additional ones going toward the outside. (Like an asterisk.) So in the end, I had a 5 3/4 inch hole w a bunch of little flaps hanging off around it. The vent has 3 angled pieces of plastic on the part that would go on the inside. (Look at their provided pics closely) I am assuming is to help keep it attached to whatever it’s applied. I easily bent and broke them off. I then easily pushed the vent through and then from the inside, used GG Patch N Seal Waterproof Tape to hold the plastic flaps down and taped around the piece of the inside vent. If the flaps are a little too long, cut them down but leave enough to attach tape. I could’ve secured the vent from the the outside too w even more tape but chose not to so that it didn’t look too patchwork. This was so easy to install. I’m sure it would’ve been even nicer had I used something other tape to attach it but I didn’t have much choice. The inside screen should do a good job keeping bugs out too. I have absolutely no experience doing anything w tools, home repair, etc but installing this vent couldn’t have been easier. I’ve already ordered 3 more to add even more cross ventilation.(The clips were used simply to hold the greenhouse cover tight so I could apply the tape from the inside a bit more even. This was a job that had to be done completely alone. 😏

Do not buy this if you are seeking to control airflow through the vent because they LIED on their description saying it has an adjustable button for airflow...it does NOT! It a is fixed plastic vent screen.

Ended up returning this. Measures more like 3 5/8" where you connect the duct. Perhaps I got the wrong part? Between that and the bug screen that has a solid part, I was worried this would be too restrictive, not to mention the wad of tape I was going to need to seal a REAL 4" duct to this. Oh and I think those black fins are supposed to hold it in since there are no screw holes, but not sure on that either. The fins would also prevent you from ever removing the vent without access to the other side which you may or may not have on a roof soffit.

I liked this product because it provides a simple solution for soffit venting--I had initially thought i'd have to improvise something. Installation was super easy and the outer louvered screen pulls off for cleaning. This product does not rate 5 stars because the inner plastic screen, useful to keep bugs out, obstructs the airflow WAY too much. This turns the 4" nominal diameter flow into the equivalent of less than half that and caused the exhaust fan to kick excess air back into the room. I solved this by removing the screen and will try to find a piece of open wire mesh that will let air flow through and keep bugs from getting in.

We bought a couple of these to put on our chicken coop to keep it properly vented without letting water in and they do a great job! Easy install and exactly what we needed.

The first box arrived incomplete. I let them know and was sent a completely new 1 which is perfect and installed with a slightly larger hole than unit. Tapped it in with rubber mallet, caulking for sealant. Pulled tubing threw and attached before tapping into cutout. Great airflow too, mine came with 6 or 7 louvers. I replaced the plastic grid for a metal, fine wire screen to increase airflow, almost doubling it. It's perfect and I would recommend this. Painted primer black to prepare for house painting.

Great product! Fit perfectly, but you do have to drill your own pilot holes. So take that into consideration. No biggie, what homeowner doesn't have random screws laying around to fix stuff? If you're a new homeowner, you will very soon! This does not come with hardware, so I used the existing hardware. If you don't have it, just use some hex head 1/8" × 1/2"L screws and you'll be set. I used 3 screws per unit.

Just what I needed, cheap and fits. For people wanting to know the screen in the inside pops out if you seem to think it is what is restricting the air flow.I installed this in stucco so it was more difficult than most jobs. Placed the vent below the intake to create a strong down draft and avoid moisture build up. If installed correctly it works good.Painted it brown to match the house.

Overall very good for the money but the mesh grill doesn’t sit 100% securely and you’ll probably either need to wedge it in or glue it. But way cheaper than a metal one, just using it for a grow tent exhaust to help prevent bugs.

Fits really well, looks nice and clean and works for what I bought it for. However, it is essentially a plastic piece and a fair price would be around $10-12.

The plastic pieces that hold the vent between the wall was snapped off. But overall the vent cover has held up and done a good job. Also with the white walls, people don't even seem to notice them.
