Coastal Scents Pure Unrefined Shea Butter

It came packaged well and with the little plastic "digger" to help get up the shea butter. I thought that was a very nice addition to the product. When I opened the jar the shea butter was smooth but firm as per usual and had the amazing nutty shea butter smell. I'm very happy with my purchase. I believe in coasal scents for my shea butter and hot pots. I've been using Coastal scents shea butter for years and the quality has remained good IF not better over time. The shea butter keeps my hands, legs and lips nice and smooth.

I did alot of research about this product before buying it and everyone was talking about how amazing it is for any and all skin types. So I initially bought some at a flea market and I absolutely loved it. I use it for everything, I use this product for my hair, skin and on my 4 year old son. Everyone wants to know what I use on my skin and I tell them, Black soap and Shea butter, I will never buy any other soap or lotion. This shea butter is a little sweeter smelling than any others that I have bought, but works just a good.

Absolutely adore this shea butter!! It is the most smooth and rich butter ice ever used. Others are oily, some are clay like. But this one is perfect! It has been the resolution to my son and I having eczema. I stopped using the steroid creams because of this.

The product looks even more appealing in reality. The price of $7.99 is nice, the packaging is just two plastic zip bags, but it was done well and with a lot of tape. The most important-the butter is an ivory colored one, just as it is advertised! My previous order of shea butter was from the seller Hallal something,., but they sent me an yellow shea butter while I had ordered an ivory one. I will definitely order from Coastal Scents again!!!

This is a great shea butter. It is not at all gritty like some butters, and has a nice color and smell. It melts well and whips into a soft mousse-textured cream (I mix it 4:1 with coconut oil). The big advantage is that this shea butter is fair trade and directly supports the women in Ghana who harvest the nuts and process the shea oil.

In the lotions I have used this in, it sets up well and has a very nice feel on the skin. Used with coconut oil, the lotion is mostly solid at room temperature but easily melts in your hand to create an oil that is great for massage or as a lotion. It is not strongly scented, so it is a good base to add oils or leave as unscented lotion. It is very nicely moisturizing and absorbs quickly into the skin.

This is definitely unrefined she butter. I bought this butter to help reduce the appearance of my stretch marks on my legs. The smell is not bad, but the texture is a bit greasy and possibly even grainy? I really wanted to love this product, but I have had better results with Organic Coconut Oil in place of this. I hope this works out for others.

I don't like this shea butter so far. The strong scent and gritty feel wouldn't bother me if the product worked, but it wasn't easy to work with. The consistency was tough even after using an electric mixer to fluff up the shea butter, it is hard to spread it on my skin. I tried using it as a lip balm but it didn't do any good. It also broke me out on my shoulders. My lips were still cracked and dry. I bought yellow shea butter and that seemed easier to work with as far as consistency and it works incredibly well as a conditioning lip balm.I'll continue using and will update if I see good results.

This stuff is amazing if you like making DIY products. I have used it to make Whipped Body Butter. But I also use it plain on my dry legs. I've never used anything as powerful as this to combat dryness. Plus I am content knowing I'm not absorbing chemicals through my skin when I use it, because it's raw Shea Butter!!!! I've been using it for about a year and am very satisfied. The only thing I would change is that I don't like that it comes in a plastic container. The world cannot sustain the amount of plastic we use, and beauty products are not a reasonable justification for plastic use any longer.

I am glad I found this item available in Amazon Canada. Ordering 3x 16 ounces worth over $25, which is free shipping. I went to NOAH's Natural Foods and checked with other places. They don't sell in bulk. It came in 90 grams quantity and it cost way more. I am able to do my homemade cream/lotions at this good price. When I ordered the inventory says it was 'temporarily out of stock' but they were able to fulfill the order and delivered fast in few days only. Nice softer texture than the one I purchased from Bulgaria in a plastic bottle, which is white in colour. This one is yellowish. It came fresh with a good smell. SATISFIED with my purchase.

I received this when I purchased it with amazon prime. It was so hard, i had to push my finger through it and when i pulled it out, there was a hole in it. I do not think this is suppose to be hard. It also had a very very strong odour that smelled like expired beauty products. I tried to contact the company, but unlike amazon.com I am unable to contact the seller.

It's shea butter. It came in a block. It allowed me to make my lip balm with it and honey and vanilla flavored coconut oil.Overall it was a good product, and 10 ounces is a lot of it! Will have to think of other projects to use it on.Would re-buy if I ever finish it.

This was 16 oz package when I purchased it in February and about $5 less. Thought I better go in and write a review. Very happy with the butter! I use it in soap making. Not happy the price went up so much and changed packaging to less. Will search for different supplier.
