Excellent bird seed
I have been looking for bird seed in my local shops for a while, and to be honest confused by it all. As a newbie to feeding birds apart from bread, never fed birds as my garden took a while to be decent enough for birds to enjoy. Eventually came across Peckish Complete Seed and Nut No Mess Wild Bird Food Mix, 2 kg The price was ridiculously good, but usually a good price could take away the goodness in the seeds Having read the reviews over two days, I bought this one.. I would like to say, I am on the VINE programme, but this packet was not gifted to me for a review that’s true. I bought this myself. Having read on the reviews that birds do not seem to like the seeds, or that the seeds have gone mouldy, I was a little concerned by these remarks. This is why reviews are so important. I had to weigh up whether the bad reviews out weighed the good, in which it doesn’t. The 2Kg bag is fairly heavy, and hopefully will last a while. I cleaned the bird food trays out, once dried added the seeds. I have added a image of a bird eating the seeds from its perch. If you like the bird feeder plus perch, it was bought from Amazon UK costing £ So what’s in the seed? Best before date…. May 2024 Contains 12 complete seed & nut in the mix HUSK free Calvita vitamin mix includes.. Carotenoids helps feather colour, protects from sunlight damage Calcium promotes good bone structure, essential for egg production Vitamins A, D, E & Biotin for strengthening beaks, bones, helps growth and reproduction On the back of the mix packet shows a lot of different species of birds attracted to this food. I have a lot of birds in my garden, because the bird seed holder is attached to my window, I can hear them all tapping away eating. The birds appear to like the food, and this morning seen a fair few. There is no mess on the floor from dropped seeds. If anything does drop on the floor, Bob the pigeon is always waiting in the sidelines. Not sure if the seed is on subscribe and save, but worthwhile doing in my opinion. The bag is resealable however I added the seed to plastic tub with top. Do not leave seed in the trays if the rain starts, birds don’t like it I will definitely use this seed again, without a doubt, it is seriously good.. ⭐️Thank you to the seller ⭐️I hope my review helps you

A reasonable compromise between quality and cost
Originally graded as 1 star, see the rest of my review, however I am now upgrading to 4 stars. Given a bit of time, the more interesting birds did return, but not in the numbers we had before. Last year, for the first time in years, we were invaded by numerous sparrows. Before , sparrows were a a rare visitor. This winter they are back in force again. I really cannot afford premium CJ birdfood for hordes of sparrows so I have decided to stick with this food. It's not as crappy as most cheaper mixes and the more interesting birds will come if they need to. We still end up with masses tossed on to the lawn so it is by no means a "no mess" birdseed, and the starlings are hoovering up the dropped seed and fouling the lawn with their droppings but until I win the lottery this will have to do. It's a reasonable compromise and it is saving me money. PREVIOUS REVIEW We've been feeding our birds on CJ Hi-energy No mess for the past 2/3 years. It's a good area for birds and we have a constant stream of the little coloured birds like tits, chaffinches and siskins. Despite having starling proof feeders, it was beginning to get very expensive and I thought I would try what looked like a another good quality no mess food. Good quality no mess food is exactly what this food is not. It looks ok in the sack but the birds don't like it and toss it all over the shop. Our little coloured birds have nearly all deserted us in disgust - literally overnight - and now we have only flocks of sparrows scooping the seed out and dropping it on the grass - and gangs of marauding starlings hoovering up the droppings. We get the odd tit but nothing like the constant stream we had before. I would not have believed that changing the brand of bird seed could make such a difference. I will try the RSPB mix next but otherwise it's back to CJs and if I have to cut down the cost I'll ration the amount of seed put out each day. (I've also posted reviews saying CJ Guardian bird feeders are the only bird feeders we have tried that have defeated the starlings but I'm not a CJ employee in disguise. Just amazed at how good their products are. I do know that the people behind CJs have a conservation background and I guess this is what makes the difference.)

Highly recommend
Looks to be a special mix, different from the standard wild bird food I’ve bought before. The small birds seem to Love it. Large bag much handier than having to constantly make a purpose journey out every could have weeks. Extremely quick delivery. Highly recommend. Thank you

Spuggie approved...
You can't really go wrong with Peckish. It's more expensive than other feeds, but always good quality and doesn't leave a mess. Nice range of seeds - robin, sparrow, chaffinch and coal tit approved! Super fast delivery on this order too.

Birds love them, price increased a lot though this time.
I buy these particular bird seed bags a lot, birds love them and as I have a very big garden every bird in the area comes and enjoys them. Dropped one star as the price had increased a lot this time, may have to search elsewhere if this becomes the norm.
