It works
Seems to b of decent build quality. A little thinner than Cisco-branded DACs, but a bit more flexible. Didn't test throughput extensively, but no complaints moving large amounts of data between devices. Can confim it works perfectly fine on 10G SFP+ ports on several Cisco devices, as well as a Mellanox 10/25G NIC. The fact you can order these at a multitude of lengths, and significantly cheaper--unless there's compatibility issues with certain equipment, or you have a service agreement that forbids it, I don't see a caveat.

10Gtek DAC Cable: Because Fiber Optics Are So Overrated
Alright, if you’re here, you probably already know this isn’t your average “plug in and charge your phone” cable. This 10Gtek SFP+ DAC Twinax cable is the techie equivalent of a high-speed dating service for your network gear — direct, fast, and no nonsense. It’s passive, it’s copper, and it screams “I’m serious about data” at 10 gigabits per second. No fancy fiber optic lasers or magic dust — just good old-fashioned metal doing what it does best: carrying your bits and bytes like a champ. I mean, sure, it looks like a glorified chunk of wire with connectors on both ends, but don’t let the humble appearance fool you. This cable is the secret handshake for networking pros who want low latency and high performance without breaking the bank. If you want your servers to gossip at lightning speed and keep your data center from turning into a digital snail race, this baby’s your go-to. Just don’t ask me to explain exactly how it works — I’m still figuring out what “10GBASE-CU” means without Googling.

Widely compatible, especially for the price-point
After several years, these DACs have proven to be the most widely compatible and performant affordable cables I've used. They have worked with everything I've thrown at them. Highly recommended.

Works as advertised
Was going to buy 2x10GbE SFP+s to use with CAT6 to get a 10G connection between my home server (Dell R630) and my Mikrotik CSS326, but saw the price point and figured it was worth a chance. Plugged in and automatically connected at 10G with nothing else needed, and the hardwired cable works great in my home lab rack. Second time I've bought 10Gtek products and they work really well!

Works to connect same type outputs. Sturdy. Stiff.
It works. Don't have to worry about single mode multimode. It just works. Assuming sfp to sfp. Ot sfp+ to sfp+.

Excellent 10G Performance, But Verify Compatibility for Mission-Critical Links
I recently purchased this 10Gtek 10G SFP+ DAC Twinax Cable for setting up a high-speed link in my home network. My experience with the cable was a mix of stellar performance and a significant compatibility hurdle. The overall durability and quality of the build are excellent. The cable arrived well-packed and exactly as specified (4-meter/13.1ft). The pull tabs are robust and the connectors feel solid—a good sign for long-term use. For ease of use, the connectors inserted and locked smoothly into the Netgear switch and Mikrotik gear I used for initial testing. The cable thickness is standard for a 10G DAC of this length, making it reasonably easy to route and manage. Where this cable truly shines is its core functionality: data speed. During testing, it immediately provided stable, full 10 Gbps throughput with almost no measurable jitter. This is a testament to the quality of the passive copper design and makes it a fantastic choice for speed and reliability—provided it works with your hardware. Here's the critical caveat: compatibility is not universal. While the cable worked flawlessly with both Netgear and Mikrotik during testing, the final permanent installation failed due to incompatibility with a TP-Link BE800 router paired with the Netgear switch. I strongly believe this is a proprietary software limitation on the router's side, not a cable defect, but the result was the same: the cable was unusable for my intended setup and had to be returned. Conclusion: If your equipment is explicitly listed as compatible (Cisco, Meraki, etc.), this cable offers outstanding 10G performance, speed, and great build quality. If you are integrating it into non-listed or newer consumer hardware (like the TP-Link BE800), proceed with caution and be prepared for potential vendor-lock issues. It's a great cable, but you must check the compatibility list twice.
