I researched for days upon days. So many choices in desks. Sit Down Stand Up Convertible Desk Elevators I mean I spent days . So many choices on top of it all was electric/manual. Finally settled on this desk. Because of the elevated shelf for monitors and laptop leaving the desk for keyboard and other important items like snacks ! Assembly was a breeze. I used Loc-Tite Blue on all the screws to ensure the desk stays tight. All and all for the money this desk is perfect. Easy to operate up/down. Feel confident a switch or a motor will not mysteriously stop working in a year. The mechanism is solid the base is solid even extended to the maximum height. with two 32 inch monitors 2 laptops and other assorted items. the base is solid and sturdy on carpet. Buy this do not hesitate. I have done all the research and this is not a paid or compensated person. This is a honest review.

Great desk for people who like to sit and stand while working
These are my initial out of the box reactions to this desk. I hope to update this in the coming weeks as I've had the chance to use it for a while. **UPDATE as of 4-19-20 at bottom**Quick pros and cons:Pros: Well made, raises up high for tall people, easy (for the most part) to assemble, comes with some hardware for assembly.Cons: The metal support pieces for under the shelf should be attached at the factory, the shelf should sit level with the desktop and should not be slanting forward and need support legs from spare wood pieces, the screwdriver included is nice for the large screws, but it's a real pain (literally) for your hands when attaching the screws for the support metal pieces, the shelf clamp handles are not well designed for being able to adjust them without causing discomfort in your hands. My full out of the box review:The desk is well packaged, which is good because mine took a few hard hits in shipping resulting in a couple pretty big holes in the packaging. The desk is unscathed (thankfully) and I haven't noticed any damage upon receipt. It's VERY easy to assemble in terms of the steps to follow (actual assembly of the shelf is another story, I'll get to that in a moment). The desk is solid, seems well made and is composed of sturdy materials. I can see this lasting a long time. The assembly of the main desk is VERY simple. You put together 5 pieces and that's it. That part took me maybe 20-25 minutes, including having to detach one leg because I forgot to put in the cross rod that adjusts the height on the other leg when you're cranking. The assembly of the shelf took about 20 minutes, and it shouldn't have to be like that. This desk comes with two pieces of metal to help the shelf maintain its rigidity while holding items. The problem is these metal pieces are something you have to screw on yourself. Seeing as they're low profile on the underside of the shelf and attach with 12 small screws (6 for each metal piece) I don't understand why these aren't pre-assembled at the factory. This would save you A LOT of time and sore hands while using the screwdriver that's included with the desk hardware. I'm not ungrateful that they included this screwdriver as it's helpful for the other screws you need it for, but for these small screws and how small the pre-drilled pilot holes are, you will be grumbling at the manufacturer that these weren't preassembled before the desk was packed and shipped. They need to change that. The shelf COULD have taken just 5 minutes to assemble, but took much longer because of these terrible screws. The only other part of the desk that I have a problem with is the clamps/hardware that holds up the shelf. While they are metal and are welded together, I think the ones I received may have been cut at the wrong angle. Even with the clamp seated flat against the desk surface, there's a very noticeable slope towards the front of the desk. This shelf should be flat and level as the desk surface below it is. This may be something the manufacturer needs to look at by their QC dept. I have a couple 4.25" scrap pieces of wood that I'm using to hold it up and make it mostly level, but for the amount I paid for this desk, I should NOT need to do that.I also have a minor complaint about the handles on the clamps to tighten them to the desk. One of the ones that came with mine was WAY over tightened (they come fully clamped for saving space) and I'm concerned that may have warped the bracket. Hopefully not. They're in a three spoke pattern instead of a round top which would make them much easier to turn and save your hands. The hand crank works well with just a little bit of shakiness as you're adjusting the height, but that's to be expected. As long as you don't crank it too fast, your desktop items will remain in place, but it may cause an issue for anyone who has items like POP figures as they may fall over. This desk also does a good job of fitting in a tight space as it's not too wide or too deep. At its lowest height setting, it's just barely too tall for what I hoped it would be, but that's easily compensated by adjusting the height of the chair I'll be using when I sit. At its tallest setting, the desk is actually a little too tall for what I'd need (I'm 6'2") but I won't complain about that since I'd rather be able to crank it lower than need it to go higher than what it does.It seems like a good desk and something that will save my neck and shoulders from having my monitors too low. I love how easy it is to adjust the height. Assembly could be slightly improved and a closer look at quality control to make sure the clamps are at the right angle to support the shelf sitting flat, but this should work really well for me. I hope to update this within a few weeks to tell you if it works out well for me.**UPDATE 4-19-20 I've been using this desk for a week now and here are some further reactions:Having the crank available on both sides (you can remove it and switch between using the left and right sides) is SUPER helpful. I originally wanted to have mine on the right, but due to other furniture placement have had to use it on the left and it's worked just as well. This is also a nice, flexible option for allowing you to use the desk in multiple locations if necessary. The top of the desk does show a LOT of fingerprints as you're using it. Some people may find this especially annoying if they like having a clean surface to work on. If you don't want this bothering you, I'd recommend using some kind of desktop mat to work on, which also may make it less slippery (I'll get to that in a moment).I've cranked it up and down once a day as I like both sitting and standing. I decided to place a couple POP figures on it to see how smooth it would be while raising/lowering it and was pleasantly surprised that the figures did not fall over at all. There's just enough shaking when you raise/lower the desk to be noticed, but apparently not enough to cause anything to fall over unless that item falls over easily to begin with. The top of the desk is pretty slippery. I had a plastic cup on it this week and had to catch it fast before it slid off the edge when I accidently bumped it with my hand. The surface is smooth and has some kind of texture on it that makes it quite slippery if you're not careful. Be cautious of this when you place items on it, like drink cups. As I recommended before with the fingerprints showing, some people may want to put a desk mat down to both prevent the prints and to give items more friction for sitting on.I think this is an extensive review of the desk and I hope you've found this helpful. I think it's a great product overall and something you should definitely consider if you're looking for options. Just make sure you use a better screwdriver until the manufacturer realizes it's better to fasten the metal brackets to the bottom of the shelf BEFORE shipping. That still doesn't make sense to me.

Top Fell Off Less than a Week In
It was easy-ish to assemble, but tonight, after less than a week, I was running USB cables underneath and the top fell off, on top of me, my two new 27" monitors came crashing down, putting a scratch in the more expensive of the two.The metal parts that I screwed to the desktop stayed attached to the desktop, it was these plastic parts that connected to the legs that broke. Not at all happy.

Great value for a solid standing desk
I first considered getting a adjustable standing desk attachment for my current desk for ~$100, but that would have been compromise in desk space, so I started looking at this well reviewed desk. Initially I was looking for an electric adjustable desk, but realizing I wasn't likely to need that as much, I prioritized a desk that had a monitor shelf like this one.A lot of reviews mentioned shipping damage, but my desk came perfectly packed and in excellent condition. The box is solid and the desk parts were well protected. The desk is very simple to put together as far as adjustable desks go. Everything seems to be high quality, and this desk looks like it will tolerate moves and repeated disassembly/reassembly.The desk is quite sturdy but not excessively heavy. At the highest extension it can rock a tiny bit front to back, but I think that's more because it is sitting on carpet/pad. I am 6'2" and this desk can go higher than I can. I think I have plenty of room to consider a balance board or even an under desk treadmill. I'm not going to be missing my old desk much. If there's anything that isn't quite 5 stars, its that it wasn't cheap, but then again, it isn't cheap. This should last quite a while. I think it's a good value, and better to get something a bit on the more expensive side than something that you'd regret or end up tossing after a couple years. What would I change or look forward to in a follow on desk? Perhaps cable/power management (although I can probably get something going myself to clean it up). I'd like some more storage as I seem to be a packrat and end up with a lot of stuff on my desk. If there's a benefit to less storage, it's that I will probably be more minimalist and focus a bit better on work.

Good value but TERRIBLE PACKAGING.
Upon arrival, box was damaged, one end was open. All of the parts were sort of layered on top of each other with about a half inch of flat styrofoam as protection between the table top and the shipping box. This lousy packaging allowed for damage during transit with a deep gouge being left on the main table top(see picture). This, along with the fact that the completed desk does wiggle a bit, back and forth while working on it. I went back and double checked that all screws and bolts were securely fastened. Otherwise, it is a good value for the money and a very functional desk. Raising and lowering the desk is very easy and does not require any "extra" type of muscling to crank the handle. Had the desk not arrived damage, this would have been a solid 4/5 star review.
