Overall a Great Value...
My teenage son bought this as his second electric guitar as an "advanced-beginner". He is super-pleased with it and plays it daily. He was particular to this specific model. I think his only criticism is the maple fretboard finish seems a bit "sticky" or "grabby". But I've read this can be dealt with easily enough. He also was on the fence about the 21 frets. In hindsight he would have appreciated 22 or even 24. But that can mean a very different guitar. It is hard to find everything you want in just one guitar. If you are going to own two electrics, a telecaster is a nice second IMO. Overall this is a great value.

Very Nice
There are numerous sellers of this item on Amazon. I selected "Sold and Shipped by Amazon" as the seller. The box arrived intact and I was happy to see the box had a previous freight shipping label from Fender's San Bernadino factory to Amazon's Channahon warehouse.1. OVERALL: This guitar arrived well packed and blemish free. This is a beautifully built and finished guitar. The sunburst and double binding is a great look. The knobs/pots felt fine, and the tuners, bridge and nut were ok as well. A bit of string stretching and string lube and this guitar holds tune pretty well. The guitar comes with very light strings, feels like 9s. Easy to play, however I have a heavy touch and could hear the tuning issues. Swapped to 10s and all good.2. FRETS: The first thing I checked for was high frets with a fret rocker. Happy to find there were none.3. SETUP: Out of the box, the relief and action were out of spec but playable. The out of the box set up along with Fender's specifications are shown below.Relief at 8th fret, capo on 1st fret: 0.30 mm New vs 0.203 mm Spec.Action at 12th: 2.25mm New vs 1.6mm Spec.A quick truss rod and bridge adjustment produced the factory spec, that I was happy with, buzz free and no dead frets. It's worth noting that there were no sharp frets out of the box. It's winter and the humidity in my house is very low, in the teens. Within a week, I did feel sharp fret ends. Short term, I plan to keep this in a case with a Boveda humidity pack. I'll likely need to eventually dress the fret ends because I prefer to leave my guitars in stands, out of the case.4. Finally, the part that is subjective: I love the way this guitar plays and sounds. The neck profile is a bit thinner than I prefer but workable. The sound is classic telecaster.Overall, this is a well built guitar that will need a good setup out of the box. The one thing I didn't like was the shallow input jack. When using a right angle cord, the plug doesn't seat fully. Also a know issue with the constantly loose jack on this style Telecaster jack. The solution is to replace with an Electrosocket jack cup. There are several brands sold, I installed the one from KAISH and am very happy with it.March 31 2025 update: I did end up buying a Stew Mac end file and spent a quick 1/2 hour dressing the fret ends. Nice and smooth now. This guitar does seem to be more susceptible to humidity than my other guitars. Went away for a week traveling, came back to dead frets in the 5th fret area. A quick 1/2 turn to the truss rod to add relief and the issue was resolved. Also snugged up the four neck bolts. Had no similar issues with my other two guitars in the same room.

Nice Squier Guitar for the price
I had a good experience and replacement with Amazon ordering this guitar. The first "Squier by Fender Classic Vibe 70's Telecaster Thinline Electric Guitar - Maple - Naturalguitar" I ordered arrived packaged perfectly in the box, no problem. The issue I had was the guitar from the factory had 3 of the tuners misaligned, therefore a couple of the tuner keys were not straight. I had Amazon exchange the guitar for the exact same model. The only issue I had with the second ( and again factory problem) was the input jack was very loose when inserting the cable, not the outside housing, but simply inserting the cable into the guitar. I replaced the strings (as normally to suit my needs) removed the pick guard and moved the connector so the cable was secure when plugged in.For the price the quality and craftsmanship of this guitar is very nice. I would recommend this guitar. The problems I had is not an Amazon problem but issues from the factory

Neck was completely unplayable
First off, the guitar is beautiful. But it sounds like garbage. The nut is set at an angle that makes the first three strings about a 16th of an inch longer than they should be. The first several frets play super sharp. Additionally, the neck needs a fret job badly, even if I cut the nut out and reset it it would be barely playable right now. Contacted fender, they want me to drive it 200 miles to the closest repair facility on a weekday.Ended up pulling the guts out of it and putting them in another guitar I have, and I'll buy a baritone neck for this guitar. Also, when I opened it up the body was full of sawdust, I mean like a quarter inch of sawdust that was gooey like they dipped the body to finish it right after it came off the router. There was no appearance that the guitar went through any kind of quality control process. At least one tool mark on the neck. No QA signatures anywhere on or inside the body (an affinity has several when you open it) and I could tell immediately that the neck was worthless. If anyone at the factory tuned this thing and strummed a chord, it wouldn't have made it out the door. Also it weighs TWELVE pounds, heaviest guitar I own by 25%.Complete waste of time and money,
