This is the same model that the nail salon uses and it works very well. I sometimes work on my husband's toe nails that are thick and hard. This machine takes care of it even if I have it running for 30 min. - it does not overheat. The little heads last a long time and don't cut the skin - just the nail. I'm impressed! I really like using this.

ZERO STARS on this one!! Bought the ProPower 520 drill after much research on the brands and types of electric nail-filing drill systems. The price was $135. It worked the first time I used it, but suddenly stopped spinning the second time I tried to use it. Since it was not within the 30-day limit for a full refund, I contacted Medicool with my concern. Upon their recommendation, I shipped the drill portion of the system back for inspection and or replacement (I paid a $15 shipping fee). I received an email indicating that the item would be tested and repaired, and days later, a repair person called me to say that the drill worked perfectly fine. She explained that the plastic protective tip inserted on the base of the drill bit should never rest or touch the top of the drill handle, since this would prevent the bit from rotating. She explained that the drill worked fine and that I was not using it "correctly". I found this confusing and odd since the drill was designed as a turn-on or turn-off mechanism, and the instructional materials included with my drill package made no mention of the protective plastic tip on the drill bit touching the drill head. According to her inspection, the drill was in perfect order and did not need replacement or repair. A few days later, I received a $45 "servicing" bill, even though, according to the repair person, there was nothing needing repair. I researched current pricing for a brand-new drill and discovered the cost to be $65. In short, Medicool expected me to pay $60. fee to return my original brand-new drill. This sort of situation is not only frustrating, but it's plain nuts. At the end of the day, my "perfectly working" drill was costing me $195. I've spent time in customer service hell and with the repair person to resolve this silly situation, with no success. My next step is to contact the Medicool company office in Torrance, CA. BEWARE!!

This nail drill is the real deal! It's got a weight to it that suggests it's high quality, the bits are secured by turning the locking mechanism one way, and released by turning another way (another clue that it's good quality), and the spin direction can be switched, which helps a lot when doing your own nails. The only thing is: it only comes with a couple bits, but they're good quality. You can buy bits separately

Terrible! I only found out after buying it that it needs a charger to work. The connector was very inconvenient to use, and I will return it.

Wife wore hers out after many years of commercial use. Bought this for her as an exact replacement.
