Some bristles would fall off during the first couple of times of use but afterwards it worked perfectly. Try pulling excess bristles before using it for the first time.

I purchased this as an add-on, one of those 'should have just in case' and it looks pretty good. I tugged on the bristles and they are sturdy.

I haven't used it and probably won't. It does not look like the photo. Instead it is an altered standard low quality 1 1/2 inch paint brush (size marked on the metal part as all paint brushes are) that looks like the tips of the bristles have been chopped off and squashed down. They are cut unevenly and are splayed out. The bristles are much shorter than in the picture based on the ratio. Wood handle is very cheap lightweight wood and has a slight crack. The bristles are pretty stiff for a pastry brush, maybe that is because they have been cut short. They are about the same length as the metal piece at the base of the bristles. I wonder if this is a defective paint bush being marketed as a pasty brush. Piece of junk and belongs in the trash. It is not the same as indicated in the photo. I would give it no stars if I could.

I use a pastry brush every morning for the olive oil that goes in my egg pan. The pastry brushes I bought from Fox Run work very well. I have also used these to coat pastry with butter and an egg wash for bread. As all natural bristle brushes, they melt if exposed to high heat. I personally do not want silicon anywhere near my food and was happy to find some good all natural bristle brushes.

Great little brush. Loads up well, but coats food with a delicate touch. Easy to clean. Bristles are on tightly, no loss at all through several washings.

I ordered this brush expecting a soft bristled pastry brush. It's just a cheap paint brush that one can buy at any hardware store for about $0.65. Very cheaply made, the bristles fell out all over my pastry. I doubt it's even food-grade. Save your money!

I should disclose that I'm not a professional pastry chef, but this brush worked great for what I needed. I'd buy another one if I needed it!

Fox Run makes great products. It is simple and it works well. I only wish they had more products on Amazon.
