Great Emergency Knife
I purchased this after seeing my nephew with a Tac-Force knife, and realizing how handy it would be to have one of these emergency first-response knives in case of an accident or my daughter locking herself in the car. I think originally this knife was over $30, and the Amazon price was $26, and the day I purchased this there was a lightning deal on a Gerber Bear-Grylls tool, but it turned out that it wasn't the Ultimate Survival Knife (which is what I had hoped to get.) I had this on my wish list prior to that, and the only thing I didn't like about this compared to the others was this didn't have the emergency whistle, lanyard, sheath with built-in sharpening stone, or fire starter like the Ultimate Survival Knife...and it didn't have spring-assisted open like the Tac-Forces. However; I popped over to my wish list, and saw that the price had gone down to around $13, so I immediately ordered this with the Pocket-Pal sharpener, and my total was still just over $20...so I added a couple humidifier packs for my humidor (fulfilled by Amazon for free shipping,) and just waited for the arrival.) When I got the knife I was more than pleased. The construction and quality of the blade and sharpness were beyond my expectations. I immediately banged the glass breaker into my solid-wood coffee table my wife received as a gift from her grandmother, and there was no give anywhere on the knife. There's a little allen or hex-wrench twist on the side to adjust tension on the blade to make it easier or harder to flip open, but it arrived at just the perfect tension for me (too hard for my 4-year-old daughter to flip open but easy enough for me to snap open with one thumb.) This knife is a work of art, and I'm sure it will be handy in any emergency situation and good for self-defense in case of a home invasion. Also, in retrospect, I'm glad that its not a spring-assist open; that's just one more thing that WILL eventually break, making the knife defective and (at least to me,) annoying. I am completely happy with this purchase, and considering the quality of the knife, AMAZED at the low price. I mean really; a Smith & Wesson knife for right around $13...lol, where else but Amazon? Thanks again, Amazon. One more thing, Indiana just signed an agreement to be the 4th state to start charging taxes on Amazon purchases beginning in 2014. My brother is more than livid about the whole issue, and I'm not pleased about it myself, but if you continue to offer such great deals compared to local store shopping, I'll be more than happy to pay taxes on purchases through your website; it will still be an amazing deal compared to walking into the local Walmart to purchase the same things for $20-$30 more.

Great Knife, Excellent Value
I normally won't write a review until I've had something for some time. It seems pointless to rate something with which you've had no practical experience. However, in the 12 hours that I have had this knife, I have tested it and used in in more "experimental" applications than most other blades I've owned. After 6 hours, I took my SOG Flash 2 out of my pocket, oiled it for storage and put it away. This S&W is extremely well crafted, feels great in your hand (it's heavy, but it feels right), it comes sharpened with a razor sharp edge and looks great. It feels like a $60 knife and I paid $16.50, with free shipping. Only 1 negative... There is no lock to keep it closed. It has a large(1/4" dia) knurled disc to assist with opening, and potentially could open unintentionally in your pocket or belt line if the disc catches on something. (Probably why I should wait on my review) However, because of the value and craftmanship, I let it keep its 5th star. For $16.50, a knife of this quality is a steal! Additional Features: Seatbelt/paracord cutter has its own blade, it does not utilize the knife blade. Hardened tip for breaking automobile glass, and the belt clip is long enough and tight enough to clip securely to any pocket , belt or even military style web-gear. Comes in a sealed plastic pouch inside a cardboard box. No sheath is included.

Functional Knife on the Cheap
This knife is cheap. And by cheap I mean a great bargain!. Sure, it isn't the greatest knife in the world, but it is FAR from the worst and for the price you really can't beat it. It's a large knife with a great serrated edge and is perfect for an everyday carry or in a toolkit, tackle box, or first aid bag. I've sharpened it once already and so far the new edge is holding up well. I'd highly recommend this t anyone who wants a nice, reliable, heavy knife with a locking blade. If you are in the market for a knife that doesn't look like it is meant to kill someone but still want a quality blade, this is your knife. It is NOT a combat knife. This is a utility knife and it is good at its job.

Good Knife
A little slow to open, I have read the reviews and about 1/2 agree others disagree. Like the weight and has a good edge. . After having this knife for over a year opens much better, never had to use the Seat Belt cutter or glass pummel. The other reviews are bad on it. Still it is a strong knife, that is out of the way when not in use. For the $20 dollars I paid for it at the time, it is the best pocket knife I have ever owned by far. Carry it on my inside right pocket clip on. Pull it, it is open and ready to use. Used it camping, hiking, as an ice pick last thanksgiving. You name it, little chores all the time. I have had this knife for two or more years now, although I have had several over the years it is the best pocket knife I have ever owned and the only one that I everyday carry. It is so sturdy and just so thin. Makes carrying it easy. Been thinking of buying a second if I ever lose the first.

Seat belt cutters do not work .
Great Knife , well built , Has a knurled nob on the blade to facilitate one hand operation, Parkerized matte Finnish , belt clip is Tight , and works well. The seat belt cutter is 100% non functional . Will not cut a seat belt , But still worth the price . Just use the regular blade, It cuts a seat belt like butter . The seat belt can be safely cut at the door pillar away from the Victim . The glass breaker worked on a vehicle window IT did however take a couple of hardy swings .This is not a typical Chinese junk knife that wont hold an edge after 1 use . The combination seriated and standard blade gives You the best of both worlds. Blade doesn't wobble , Handle isn't loose. grip is on tight .
