Awsome!!
I LOVE this tank. I received my tank very quickly, and it was not broken. It had no dings nor scratches. It was so perfect, I ordered another! I got the tank set up, no leaks, and it easily fit all my decorations. I am so happy with this tank! It easily fits my Halfmoon Betta ( Aztec) and he is a very happy betta.(First three photos) There is quite a lot of room to swim. The lights are not too bight, as I thought they would be. I put in green frosted pebbles, and gorgeous green lights dance the walls at night. The tank was so nice, we put it in our living room, instead of my bedroom! ( My mom doesn't like fish tanks, but she liked the elegant look of this tank.) My betta is a very happy little guy now! The second tank I ordered came just the same as the other. All my décor fit, and my Platy ( MacGyver) loves his new tank!(Last two photos) I previously had my platy in a 3 gallon, with a few others, but he killed all his "tank-mates" and the 3 gallon tank started to leak!!! So I loved the first one so much I ordered a second! He loves it! This tank also fits a Jardin corner Foam Bio-Filter, and Aqueon-mini heater perfectly! (I also used Tetra Aqua-Safe, and Tetra Safe-Start to help colonize the filter quickly.) I would highly recommend this tank to everyone, and anyone that has/wants fish! ~Edit~ My Platy(MacGyver) just recently jumped thru the feeding hole and went sky diving and carpet sledding. He was alive when we found him, and he is happily in his tank again.(No injuries at all!) I would recommend putting a small screen over the feeding hole, if you have fish that likes to jump!

Diminishing light
The aquarium part of this set is pretty good. It is a good size and the plastic is solid and very clear to give a good view of your pets. That said, I am on my third aquarium where the LED lights have diminished in output to the point where it's hard to tell they're even on. They are lower brightness under battery power which is understandable, and then when you plug them in to power, they increase in luminosity. Over the course of 4 to 5 months the LEDs when plugged in will diminish in light output to the point where they are useless. I've read multiple people say the same thing and now I am on my third light. It will get to the point where there is barely a difference between battery light output and plugged in light output which is to say you can't even tell that there's LED lights at all. Find a different product as this will become worthless in about 4 or 5 months.

GREAT PURCHASE!!
This fish tank is much better than any starter tanks you will find in the pet store - and the price can't be beat. PROS: * large enough for a betta to swim around and have some space * great design, perfect for offices, kid's rooms, or anywhere else you'd like to put it * cordless!!!! My tank is for my office, which has VERY limited outlet space * the light is bright and makes the tank look beautiful * the light is exterior to the tank, which means that little splashes of water will not get inside the light to damage it (see photos). I've had many fish tanks before, and a damaged light from prolonged water exposure is the worst * the light runs on batteries, and there is also a space for you to plug it in. I've read in other reviews that the plug can charge the batteries, but I haven't tested that theory yet. My Kindle charger fits, so you shouldn't have to buy a whole new cord just to charge the light. You probably already have something around the house that matches. * easy to clean * the light can be used on the top of the tank or on the bottom (I put mine on the top, but I imagine it would look beautiful on the bottom if I had jewel rocks) CONS: * there are plastic bumps at the bottom of the tank, to hold the light in place if you want to put the light on the bottom. These bumps make it impossible to place artificial plants with large bases in the tank. Both of my plants are placed near the front of the tank to avoid the bumps, and I'd rather have the plants near the back. You can see the bumps in the photos (the bumps are exactly the same on the bottom of the tank as they are on the top of the tank). HOWEVER - the pros for this tank greatly outweigh the cons. I loved this tank so much, I ordered a second tank for my co-worker. She currently has a betta in a much smaller tank, and I know he'd be happier in this one.

Cute tank but..
The lid came pretty scuffed and scratched despite having been plastic wrapped and no visible disturbance to the wrapping. I don’t really mind all that much but others might. Still a very cute little tank. I’ll be using it for brine shrimp. The light is handy as the mechanism is separate from the tank, so you can have it located on the bottom or top depending on your preference and what you’re using the tank for.

1st tank arrived damaged but customer service is great and sent me a new tank!!
The tank is perfect for my betta but the tank arrived cracked. If Amazon packaged it better, it would have been OK. I'm returning it and getting a new one sent out. Glad this could be resolved and I can't wait to get my new tank in!!! Update: I've had this for a few months now. I've ended up getting a bigger tank for my betta. I am still using this tank for a different betta. It works great when you bring your new betta home. I use preconditioned betta water. Do not use RO, spring or distilled water!! This size is great to quarantine new friends. We've added a heater to keep the bettas happy and healthy. We've also added a clip on light for days we need more light. Easy to clean. Light but sturdy.

Not durable or suitable for long-term betta ownership - but great customer service
EDIT (November 2017): After posting my original review, the seller asked that I contact them. I'd like to adjust my review (I'm volunteering to--they didn't ask me to). Yes, the product is still not something I'd recommend, but if you are on the fence, this company provided excellent customer service and after I was not satisfied, they refunded my money without hassle. That raised my confidence with the brand and I appreciate that they made good on their word to make sure I was satisfied with the experience. This boosted my review a star since it made for a risk free, hassle free, net positive experience even though I didn't keep the product. Original review (October 2017): I was new to betta fish ownership and bought this tank due to the good reviews. It has been about 8 months now and I have learned a few things that have made me less happy with this purchase. I thought I'd share what happened so new buyers and betta fish owners can take these lessons into account when deciding to buy. I bought two of these tanks and used them for about 8 months for two new bettas I purchased. One of the tanks came with two scratches that I thought were superficial, but they eventually deepened and grew so I no longer use it for fear of leaks. The other tank is fine. One of the LED lights no longer works even after a battery change. Therefore, I cannot recommend these tanks for durability. One of my fish ended up committing suicide and jumped out of the feeding hole, which was terrible. The other one did well, but after about six months, he grew lethargic and never moved anywhere. After a lot of online research, I identified the problem. He was simply too large for his tank. In the 7 months since I purchased him, he TRIPLED in size. He no longer swam about and was just sad in his tank (no signs of illness or water quality issues). I have since moved the betta into a 2.5 gallon tank with a heater, sponge corner filter, and thermometer. Within 2 days, the betta was happier than I've ever seen him. He never stops moving, his color is vibrant, and he builds large bubble nests. Folks, I never saw this behavior in the 1 gallon tank. In summary, here are the lessons I learned: 1. If you choose this tank, be prepared to change 80-100% of the water every 2-3 days. In such a small system, toxic ammonia will build up and your fish's health will decline if you don't keep up good maintenance. Do not expect to put more than a single betta in this tank. It is too small. 2. Consider covering the hole over the feeding area because one of my fish did jump out and suffocate. 3. If your tank comes with superficial scratches, RETURN IT. They won't stay superficial and it will eventually become unusable as it did for me. 4. The LED light won't necessarily last. 5. Be prepared to buy a larger tank. I now use the 1 gallon as a hospital tank and as a bucket for water changes. I just wasn't happy with the maintenance required and how inactive my fish was. I am not happy with this purchase. I had scratches on one, it wasn't safe for jumping bettas, and it ended up not being a suitable habitat for a fish long term. I cannot recommend this product with the problems I had and the unsuitability it ended up being for my betta.

Simple, Clean, Cordless Betta Living
Easy set up, nice clean look. Includes cordless LED lights that use 3 AA batteries. I prefer this over a cord sticking out of a wall. You can place the lights under or over the tank. The lights give off great illumination. Not too bright, not too dim. I can see fish enjoying these lights because they are not overpowering. Another bonus is on the lid of the tank there is a feeding hole in the front. On the back left hand side there is a hole for a wire cord in case you decide to place a heater in the tank. This hole for wires has enough space for 2 large wires to come through. I have tons of different types of Betta tanks. This one is the best in my opinion. It's the easiest to clean out of all the tanks I own. It looks nicer than the more expensive tanks I own and it's very spacious. This is a great price for a simple, clean looking, easy to set up Betta tank. I highly recommend picking one of these up over other tanks that are similarly priced (or even over most expensive Betta kits). I live in Colorado so I put a heater in the tank during the winter. But most of the year it's warm enough indoors so I don't need a heater. Looks really nice without cords sticking out everywhere. Also since you don't need a cord for powering on the lights, you can place this tank on most areas you couldn't before. Totally love this tank and the price is unbeatable! Update (1/6/2016): I've included two pictures with my new Betta 'Talon' in it. He is larger than most Betta's I've housed and it seems pretty spacious for him.
