Great bluray player with only 2 easily fixed downsides.
I had a cheaper no name bluray player that kept spitting out the discs at random so I decided to buy a more reputable one and I'm happy I chose this one.I only received it today but tested it with both a bluray and dvd movie. Please keep in mind I already subscribe to cyberlink software that includes power dvd. They both played all the way through with no stutters and no ejecting the disc at random. It reads the discs very well but cannot comment on burning or ripping them. The stand does feel like cheap plastic but it is sturdy and easily attachable. I have it stood vertically and it looks nice enough whilst not taking up too much space. My only problem is when it stands vertically, the discs feel as though they will slip out before it enters the player. There is a little grip at the bottom when you insert them but they look very unsteady. I did not have a problem with them slipping out but will edit this review if they do. This problem can be easily solved though by making it sit horizontally. The biggest downside is it does not come with a UK plug, it is a 2 pin European one, and I do not think the software included includes playing bluray without a subscription. I did not take a star off due to already being subscribed to Cyberlinks software and already owning a 3 pin plug adaptor for the 2 pin plug to fit into.It may seem quite expensive but this is one of those 'you get what you pay for' products that I recommend highly if you are looking for a great bluray and dvd player.

Just what I wanted.
Works perfect right out the box. I'll mainly comment on the player itself, as I doubt anyone is buying it for the software (which will always be personal taste). The stand was a bit finicky to attach (easy to break plastic bits), but once attached it might as well be one piece. Is it quiet? It's not silent, but I've ripped 30+GB blu-rays whilst in team meetings and no one's commented, so I can confidently say it won't wake anyone up.On the stand especially it is small; I have a small model mannequin on my desktop which is actually taller than it, and it's a little over an inch wide. The two-pin plug is annoying, so be warned if you're in the UK, and for the price I purchased it at (£132) it should have been included, but it's not a dealbreaker. In short, I love it and don't regret buying it.

Decent kit but some Lacking issues
Arrived with an EU plug, no UK Plug. I do believe selling to the UK either a UK plug or certified adapter is meant to be supplied with the device. Bare that in mind when purchasing. The Blu-Ray drive did read the first few discs I threw at it but not "The Lost Boys" 4k UHD edition.

Great item ... Extremely POOR Delivery Service from Amazon.
Such a shame you cannot review the Amazon Delivery Service. The ordered item is great (Asus Blu-ray writer).Such a shame about the delivery service ... order states "Parcel was handed to resident.", well let me tell you it wasn't it was just dropped over the garden gate. Luckily this act didn't cause any damage, but the extremely annoying thing is I was actually in at the time and never heard ANYONE knock on the door or even ring the door bell.

Avoid this drive it will give you coasters
It's the worst drive I have ever bought. The discs keep failing to burn and come up with error messages. Will be moving back to reliable Pioneer drives

Works but read entire review for program advice.
Works great but only has burner programs included. You will need a advanced program to play Blu-ray films on laptops and desktops.VLC free works great with Dvds and CD.Standard CD can also be played with WMP.Cyberlink powerDVD 18 (payable - depending on you knowledge) or above recommend for play Blu-ray.The included programs work great for burning and ripping. (We have alot of audiobooks on cd we like to have on our MP3 for travel)Usb c connection is brilliant for my laptop. (It is by chance also a Asus)This Product works a charm as long as you have the right programs.CDs, and likely regular dvds, will be plug and play. The burning programs are easy to install just be wary of the spam included as always. The player is mostly silent, only startup it has a thinking hum.It doesn't turn hot at all.Sleek design.

Great, expecially for MakeMKV
This drive is awesome, it's fast, needs no special driver updates to work and is literally plug and play!If you're buying this for ripping then it's perfect, it works awesome with makemkv and gets dvd ripped in roughly 10 to 20 minutes and blurays in 15 to 35 minutes. I'm yet to try ultra 4k dvds yet though. It's slightly on the louder side, however, if you have headphones on they it drains it out and the sound isn't winy or high pitch so it isn't ear piercing or anything. It's so good and easy to use that I ended up buying two!

Only comes fitted with 2-pin plug (UK)
Unfortunately, I haven't yet been able to use it because it only comes with a 2-pin plug (like we use for electric razors, etc.). There's no mention of this in the product details. I don't have an unused adaptor and even if I did, it would make the combined plug and adaptor too large to be used where it needs to be plugged in! I've been in contact with the seller, who has referred the matter to Asus, but they've responded saying they don't supply a suitable 3-pin UK plug.I'm currently in the process of seeing if I've got a suitable cable fitted with a 3-pin plug that fits the supplied power adaptor. Otherwise, I'll have to return the item unused. It's definitely the case that a little (more) information goes a long way!!
