When reviewing the item, it is important that the price is taken into consideration. So, considering the price, I think the lighter is a home-run. I ordered 2, and they arrived in a very nice box, even came with a pouch as well. I filled mine with high quality fuel and it's been solid. One I had to turn down the gas and the other needed to be edged up. The cutters work fine. It feels well made and looks much pricier than it is. I have seen some comments about excessive fuel consumption. I did not notice that, but you have 3 jets, so. My last cigar lighter didn't have a fuel window, but this one does and it is super nice to have. Consumption was fair and you can see where you are at before leaving the house. Keep in mind, I smoke 2-3 cigars a week. The flame is nice and even and it lights my cigar perfectly. No complaints. Because I cannot comment on reliability and life expectancy, it really should have been only a 4 star review .... to be fair. HOWEVER, again, considering the price, 5 stars is fair from the getgo. I paid right at 20.00 for 2, including shipping.Update: I received another lighter, which makes 3. I didn't realize it, but this order was from a different vendor. Price was about the same, but the other 2 I received previously from 1st Class Cigar Humidors Inc. came in a really nice box. This one did not. Same lighter exactly, but just no box. The box is very nice and makes it appropriate for gift giving. I wanted to mention, as I didn't want those ordering from this vendor to expect the box I mentioned in the original review. Other than that, no complaints and it works just as good as the other 2.

Having owned dozens and dozens of lighters over the last 50 years I can say that this is simply the best lighter I have ever owned. It does use a lot of fluid but that is because it puts out a tremendous of heat. It is sort of like a 500 hp automobile is going to use more fuel that a 120 hp automobile. The flame is adjustable and I have it turned down from where it was when I received the lighter, but it still uses a lot of fluid. I don't think it uses 3 times the amount that my single flame Xicar lighter but it certainly gets a cigar lit in less that 1/3rd the time as compared to the single flame. My lighter fuel expenses are just a small fraction of 1% of what my cigar costs are so it is not a factor. I think this thing will light and stay lit in a hurricane. Will get another as a spare in case I lose this one.UPDATE:I used this lighter with no issues for 9 months when it was confiscated by TSA at the airport. By then the finish was pretty well beaten up from carrying it with keys and change in my pocket but the lighter has worked flawlessly. I had bought a spare and I am now using that one which works as well as the original. When I received my spare I filled it with fuel and tested it and then put it back in the box where it sat for over 6 months until I needed to use it. The lighter was still full after sitting unused for that length of time. I am ordering another spare in case I lose this one. I no longer carry a cigar cutter but instead I use the punch on the lighter which worked very well for the entire time I carried the original lighter. I use Vector quintuple filtered fluid and a 320 ml can lasts about 6 months. I fill it every day or two and always drain the lighter before I refill it. This is still THE BEST LIGHTER I have ever owned.

I don't understand all the good reviews. Just being honest.1) Arrived broken, I think. The top COVER DOES NOT OPEN BY ITSELFr when the mechanism on the side (that makes it light) is pulled down. That means YOU HAVE TO OPEN THE TOP BY HAND, first. In my opinion, that's the first sign that this is a low-quality lighter. Either that, or mine was broken (no wonder it's not eligible for return).2) THIS IS NOT THAT CHEAP! Most local smoke shops here in SF carry torch lighters for about $12-20. I just don't see many like this (although I also don't go to many smoke shops, which is another reason why I ordered here).3) IT GETS REALLY HOT, REALLY QUICKLY. Like, to the point that it will burn you, within about 10 seconds. Sure, you generally don't need it lit that long, but most torch lighters do not get hot like this one does, and that is an indication that this lighter may be unsafe.4) HUGE flame at first, and even when you turn it down it still is pretty high, much larger than any torch lighter I've ever had.It is very light, but in my opinion, it's TOO light, which is yet another sign that this product is not of good quality. This lighter should be of pretty decent quality at this price, but really it's just a flimsy, defective, bad piece of junk. I want my money back!!
