I question why I didn’t get this product sooner in my life. Seriously. This product has made such a positive change in my skin - I feel like crying. While I have never been officially diagnosed, I’ve always felt that I have a type of rosacea. I don’t get pustules, zits or anything like that (unless I consume a lot of certain sugary drinks, and food) but for as long as I can remember, my face has always dealt with redness. Yes, certain things such as consuming sugar triggers it and makes it worse. I’ve been using skincare since my mid 20s. I am currently in my early 30s. I feel for the most part I was using products that were benefiting my skin, but as far as the redness went, nothing I used seemed to treat it. Around a year ago, I heard about how azelaic acid can be beneficial to people who have rosacea - treating redness and the pustules that go with it. So while I was aware of it, I just kept putting off purchasing it. Life stuff always coming up. After talking with ChatGPT about how sick I was about always walking around with a red/pink face, it recommended azelaic acid. Specifically Paula’s Choice. Now we all know that with a lot of skin care products it can take time to see differences. No lie… I began seeing results from this within just under two weeks or so. The redness in my face has decreased A LOT. I am now at a point in my life where I feel more comfortable going out without having to wear foundation or using something like Cicapair by Dr. Jart+ (which by the way is great at covering the redness). I am extremely pale, so dealing with a face that was red almost constantly - I felt that the difference between my face and body were so dramatically different, it made me self-conscious. But now? I am much more confident. The redness isn’t completely gone, but when I say it has been dramatically reduced, I mean it! My skin also has this type of glow that I’ve never experienced with other products - not even my tretinoin. I use this product every other day. I have several products I use for my skin and I cycle through them every other day. When I do apply this, like with every other skin care product, I always mist my skin lightly with water. Yes, doing this increases the potency of products but for my skin, I can tolerate it just fine. I also feel that by dampening your skin, the product spread, spreads a lot more evenly and easily. While this is priced at $39 and being only 1 ounce, I know it sounds expensive. But I will say that a little goes a LONG way. You don’t need to be using globs of this stuff. Also, I feel you can get away with using this every other day, like myself, so it can last longer. Everyone’s skin is different. Like I said, I’ve never been officially diagnosed, but based on what I’ve experienced and what I’ve read, I truly do feel I have some form of rosacea. I also have certain triggers that make it worse; such as consuming certain types of sugary drinks. So I feel that if you identify your specific triggers, use this product… you should see a definite difference. Wish I had gotten this product sooner! I absolutely love it.

This was recommended by my dermatologist to use this on my off-days of trentenoin, so I use this about 4x per week. I am a WOC so obviously the hyperpigmentation from scare left after cystic acne breakouts are much more visible! But this has help start to even my skin tone back out gradually, and takes away some of the inflammation under the bumps. I use this with: panoxyl 10% benzoyl peroxide foaming cleanser, panoxyl salicylic acid toner, cerave intensive daily moisturizer, and trentenoin. This routine has started to finally show me results, after dealing with severe hormonal cystic inflammatory acne that is constantly flared-up, hurting, and multiplying. This is a great addition to my routine, and works WAY better than the one from the ordinary, and it doesn’t sting or irritate your sensitive skin.

Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this product's formulation. Skin irritation, gone. Closed comedones, gone. Redness, gone. Breakouts, NONE. Skin radiance, on FULL EFFECT. After using this for a year, I tried to find a product comparable- Changarloud 14% A.A. and others. Instant break outs. I tried to use an A.A. serum instead. Instant break outs. Stop using for 2 weeks. HAHA, INSTANT BREAK OUTS. Every time, I'd switch back to this product, and 24 hours later the acne would clear, leaving little to no PIH. I don't know what ingredient/ingredients in this product that work so well with my skin, but I've turned into a lifelong customer. The formulation has drastically improved my skin health. I only hope they do not change it. The sticking point is the price and packaging. I've resorted to immediately cutting the tube open and placing the cream into a disinfected 1 oz jar. It's the only way to ensure all the product is used. Yet again, Paula's Choice collects its monthly tribute. 4/5 Stars due to price compared to product volume. I want to hug and choke the product developers.

This booster really delivers results! It noticeably reduced redness and small bumps within a week. The texture is silky and blends well with other skincare products or moisturizer. It doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin and leaves it smooth, bright, and calm. A great choice for anyone dealing with rosacea or post-acne marks.

Super small container and no results.

I've tried a whole lot of products but nothing showed immediate results like this did. Took away all redness which has plagued me for a decade. My skin is so light and even toned, it almost looks bleached because I'm just so used to redness. I mix it with a niacinamide serum after toner and before moisturizing and it has not only softened my skin, it has changed the texture. Once again, Paula's Choice absolutely knocks it out of the park. Edited in Nov to add: after two months, I switched mixing it with my serum to mixing it with my moisturizer and it seems to yield better results that way, even though I didn't think it could get any better! Helps even the skin tone and texture and mattifies my final step even when mixed with a heavy moisturizer that usually leaves my skin shiny. I'm 38, daughter is 14 and we both use this daily. It's a must-have staple in both our daily routines and even with two people using it twice daily, this little tube lasts us about 3 months. It's a little pricey but totally worth every penny.
