The are made for larger books, so they will fit lose on smaller texts.

I have a flimsy, soft-cover copy of the Messiah. Our concert is next Saturday, and I needed a black cover for it right away. This cover is perfect. It's black, stretched over the cover without pulling, and makes holding the copy in my hand without slipping. I am ready for the concert!

This item did not work well on a paperback book that is 11” x 8.5” x 0.5” large. The item stretched to accommodate the book, but the tension in the cloth prevented the covers from staying closed—they curled back instead. (I don’t think this would have happened if the book were a hardcover.) I am hoping the cloth eventually relaxes enough for the item to be usable. If not, I’ll try to insert a sheet of sturdy plastic or card stock to prevent the covers from curling.

Way too small for a normal sized paperback book. Really seems like these are just for textbooks.
