You need to attach the two sides and the back the back has Velcro the pillow attach to the velcro

I have a dog, long-haired Chihuahua, and a short haired cat. The dogs on it was more than the cat. And yes there does get to be some dog hair on it. Not much really and I barely can see it. I have the green colored love seat which I love. I "dehair" the sofa maybe once a week. Sometimes just a regular dampened wash cloth works best. Or any kind of hair removing system. Hope this helps. I definitely would buy this again!
