I purchased two of these for my boys ages 6 & 7. They are well made and just the right size! I love the bottom compartment for shoes/cleats. It is a rule that my boys wear shoes or slides/flip flops to the field, change into cleats to practice/play, then back into footwear they wore to field. This helps keep my car free of mud or red dirt! The bottom zippered pouch is perfect for that! It also completely encloses the shoes. Therefore no dirt transfers into inside of bag where the helmet is kept. The main compartment is roomy enough for a helmet with face guard and a small glove, or baseballs. We use the top small zippered compartment for batting gloves/phone, sunflower seeds, etc. I love the net and elastic bands on the sides that hold their bats! Last year I found myself lugging a huge full-size bat bag with all of our equipment(coaching equip also). This year, I can send the boys to the field with their own equipment and my full size bag isn’t as bulky or heavy! I’m so happy with these and I love the price point as well! Cheaper than the name brand ones I found in retail stores, & more features(shoe compartment). Another feature I like is the fence hook on the bag! It makes my job as an assistant coach/dugout Mom much easier! If you purchase this bag for your littles, you won’t be dissatisfied! I picked the large over the small for my grandson's gear, he'll be able to keep it in use for as long as he plays, even into college, he's not likely to outgrow it. Good kit and gear should (and usually does) have that kind of use/lifespan, providing the athlete is diligent enough to take care of it. My daughter is the baseball mom in these tellings, and the stuff for her and the kids I have sent directly to them, so they have to review things for me, which adds to the experiences all around; they get to be Grandpa's test/review helpers. This unit hits all the marks with high 'scores.' Ample space, even the helmet fits inside, solidly built, good zippers and strong seams. Barring it getting tore up somehow, or lost/stolen, this is a piece of kit that he'll be able to use for years to come.

Finally a bag that fits everything! My daughter has plenty of room for her helmet, face mask, glove, a sweatshirt and who knows what else she throws in there, without feeling like the zipper will split at any moment.

This backpack has many features. Very nice, thick padding on the straps and where it rests on the back (back shoulders and lumbar area). Metal vents in the front pouch for ventilation for damp items. There is a compression cord in the front but I wouldn't use it for this purpose because it scrunches the bag up in an undesired way. Instead, I would use this for storing a wet towel or rolled up jacket that I don't want to store inside the backpack. There are more compression straps on the sides to compress items stored inside. Netted side pockets on both sides that are divided in two. This might come in handy for skinnier water bottles or other narrow items. I would have preferred one side to be divided and the other side not, for larger items you want to stash in the netted pockets. There is a reflective strip in a few strategic places on the backpack for some added visibility at night but these are minimal and don't detract from the style of the bag. Lots of inner pockets for random items. The entire body of the backpack is padded to protect electronics, etc... I particularly like that there is a heavy duty hook attached to the top strap. If you've got a place to hook it, it keeps your pack off of the dirty ground or at a more accessible level. I like to use these types of backpacks for airport travel. I can carry all of my personal items (laptop, snacks, headphones, passport, travel blanket, etc...) and remain hands free to deal with ticketing/hauling my luggage. It's much better than traveling with a messenger bag or purse. With all the compartments and pockets, it's easy to keep everything organized and easy to find.

Before you go running off to the big baseball brands and pay-up for a similar bag: this bag has done its job for 2 seasons (and 2 fall balls!) and still doesn't show signs of significant damage or wear-and-tear. It's sturdy, thick, well-made, can survive tween handling, and has a great amount of space for baseball needs. Remember, things usually hold up according to how you treat them or maintain them. If you have kids starting out in baseball and you don't want to invest a fortune in equipment because you're not sure they'll stick with the sport (or you just don't want to spend a fortune, period) this is a great bag to get. It does its job and isn't just great for the price, but great in general. There's a cleat cubby, bat pockets, exterior elastic ropes, a big interior space, etc. The nice thing is that if your kid doesn't stay with baseball, this is still a great bag for any other gear, camping, a park day, etc.

I ordered two of these for my 12 year old boys. They wanted to have separate baseball backpacks. They loved them! The shoe compartment at the bottom is great. There is a lot of room inside the bag with different pockets too. Love that it has an outside water bottle holder. I hope they hold up well this summer. They seem to be of very nice quality. Reasonably priced.

This baseball backpack is a decent option if you're unsure if your child will stick with baseball long-term. It has the basic compartments you need, including a separate spot for cleats, which is a nice touch. My son was excited about having a "special" place to keep his shoes. However, the build quality isn't the greatest. The material feels a bit thin and flimsy, and I'm not sure how well it will hold up to the wear and tear of a full season (or multiple seasons). The zippers also seem a bit cheap and I worry about them breaking. For the price, it's an okay starter bag. But if you know your child is serious about baseball, I'd recommend investing in a higher-quality backpack that will last longer.
