Quiet, powerful, and worth every penny
This PSU is absolutely rock solid. It's silent during operation, has excellent cable quality, and clearly feels like a serious upgrade from my previous unit. The performance is stable, even under heavy load, and the 850W capacity gives me plenty of headroom for future upgrades. It’s also efficient and runs cool, which is great for power saving and system longevity. For the price, this is a perfect buy — no regrets whatsoever. Highly recommended if you want peace of mind and serious power.

Replacement for Dell XPS 8920 460w PSU
Since I had the computer half taken apart to replace the chassis fan, I decided to do a PSU upgrade as well. This gives me the capability to replace my GTX 1070 with a more beefy video card when I'm ready. The EVGA 750 PSU is well packed and comes with plenty of cables and even a test connector so you can power it up without having it connected to a motherboard. This is handy for verifying it is functioning and for possibly working on water cooled equipment when you don't want your CPU/GPU running. For the 8920 specifically, I have just a couple of minor issues: 1. I have 2 SSDs mounted in a 2.5" rack and they are stacked tightly. I was barely able to get the SATA cables connected to both drives and I wasn't comfortable with the lateral pressure on the power connectors. I solved this by reusing an old Y-Sata connector where the wires attach to the back of the connector and not at a 90 degree angle at the side. 2. The DVD drive uses a 6-pin slimline SATA power connector and this PSU does not have that connector. I found a SATA to slimline connector for $2.25 on amazon, so that will address this problem. 3. Cable lengths are very generous and a bit too long for the compactness of the 8920. However, the spare cable easily packs in the PSU bay and remains out of the way. Anyone using this PSU on a mid tower should have plenty of cable to get to their components. All said and done, installation was relatively easy, aside from having to remove and then reseat the impeller style CPU fan and heatsink. This was necessary to get access to the 4-pin ATX board connector. I had to remove this anyway for the chassis fan replacement I was performing at the same time. The PSU fan is virtually silent and can be turned to eco mode so it will only spin when needed. Now in idle mode, the only fan I hear is the impeller fan. I am quite happy with the quality of this PSU and look forward to many years of use.

Probably saved my computer as it was dying
Originally this was a negative review, because the PSU only lasted 2 years. However, when I inspected it more closely, it looks like one of my cats may have gotten pee on or in it. If that is indeed the case, my PSU probably saved my PC! In 30 years of building my own PCs, I have only ever had once PSU go out before I replaced the entire machine. When it went out, it went out with a big pop and smell of smoke. My hard drives were all unrecoverable, no component was usable, it took out all the internals. That was not the case with this PSU. With this PSU, the only symptom I had was my PC would freeze up when under heavy loads. When I removed this unit from my computer and plugged it into my tester, I heard a pop as I flipped it on, and smoke started happening seconds later. Within seconds, one of the wires I pulled from my video card to test started to melt, and I had to turn everything off and pull it out with pliers because it was too hot. I'm surprised my video card and the rest of my PC survived, and I can only thank EVGA and this PSU for that. This was a good power supply unit, while it lasted. I LOVE the full modularity of it. No need to tie down excessive cables.

this acutally WORKED!!!
15 years a got i bought my son a custom gaming PC. It had a lot of what looked like Proprietary stuff on it. When we tried upgrading the Graphics card. it was hard but we got around it. We upgraded the Ram. and added NVME cards and SSD's to improve it. When we needed to upgrade the graphics card again, I knew I needed to upgrade the power supply also. This presented a challenge. I saw this Power supply and felt it might work. The first 4070 Super we ordered came to our house but it was the wrong product. they sent a 4060 and had to return it. once we got the 4070 Super I opened it and saw the issue. It needed 2 connections like i suspected. and the power supply on board only had one. I pulled it apart took out the old one and then opened the new one. It was a Perfect Fit in to the box!!! it powered up the system Faster than the old power supply which took my son off guard. He expected to see a minor delay. but it was instant. so Far im pretty sure this 15 year old PC has finally been maxed out. when we bought it. It had a 650 power supply 8 gigs ram, a 2 gig graphics card. and a 256 Gig hard drive. now its just as great as the top PC's out there now. :) Alas i think in 10 years i might have to buy a new one. We will see. but the Power supply here is a Beast and worth every penny. just make sure it will fit. and the mother board can handle the connections.

Excellent Power Supply, noticeably noisy
I bought this power supply to replace a much older 750 Watt Bronze model also from EVGA, after nearly 7 years of flawless service I decided to modernize my PSU along with other components which were being removed, I chose EVGA due to being familiar with the brand and on the basis of how well my previous PSU functioned, the PSU was delayed in shipment, forcing me to build my new PC around the original Bronze model which allows me to make a very direct comparison. What can i say Power Supplies aren't exactly sexy, as a component in most cases you only know when it fails, this one just like its older counterpart works flawlessly I've had no problems running my pc. Installation was simple, the modularity allowed me to utilize only as many cables as I needed, if you can read and follow simple instructions you should have no difficulty even with limited knowledge about pc's. Ido question the dubious utility of making the motherboard cable modular with two different prongs to plug into the PSU since I'm not sure how "optional" that cable is. Otherwise, the cables are properly sleeved and feel rugged while flexible enough to be routed to where they need to be, the EVGA Velcro straps are a nice touch allowing for a tidy build. My single caveat with this PSU is the fan noise, I wont pretend to run a quiet system, noise levels coming from the system isn't something I normally keep track of, that alone should tell you how noisy this gets for me to even take notice to the point I was visibly concerned that something went wrong with the system. When the fan gets up to speed under load you will notice take notice, I never noticed the noise with the older Bronze model I had so I'm surprised to have this issue with what's supposed to be a more modern higher quality component. if you have no issue with noise this PSU is a good buy, but if you cherish quiet operation or minimal noise while using your PC you might want to avoid this.

The 1000 GT is Awesome!
I put it through the rigors to ensure the problems I had with the 600 W power supply I replaced (another brand) wouldn't happen with the new EVGA 1000 GT. The old PSU was fine. I just underestimated the amount of power I needed for my rig. And after duplicating the issues it passed with flying colors. To start, my GPU is rated for 400W. I thought I gave it enough cushion with the 600W PSU, even when I of course included the peripheral parts and devices in the equation. It's very quiet as well. Not dead silent, but quiet enough for my liking. I have my PC running nonstop for the 2 days since receiving it. I also wanted to make sure it was working because it was delivered tossed over our porch gate when the delivery person could've simply opened the gate and placed it on the floor. I think what saved it was the fact that the EVGA packaging has the Power supply unit reinforced with a durable Styrofoam around it inside the box. If you're delivering a package that has a fair amount of weight to it, be wary that it could be something that can break. The thing is, I had every intention of being at the door when it arrived but he got to the house earlier than I expected. All I heard was a thump from inside the house. My first reaction was, "Oh no!" Because I knew it had to be the Amazon delivery. Anyway, I recommend you try and catch the driver before they get to your porch or just have it sent to a pick-up locker to avoid potential tossing of the package. I do recommend this power supply. I will monitor its performance over the course of the month if anything bad happens I'll update this review. If no update, then you can assume all is well.
