As advertised: no need to remove the ballast. Very pleased.

We had an older florescent light fixture in our kitchen. I never loved the light it gave off, but it didn't seem worth the hassle of replacing it. When the two bulbs finally went, I knew I didn't want to replace them with the same florescents, but replacing the entire fixture would have been a pain. The NYLL bulb was as easy as could be to install. I was able to leave in the original ballast and all of the original wiring. The light was amazing! Just be warned- as soon as I replaced the bulbs, the kitchen was so bright that my wife has started noticing other things in the kitchen she wants to upgrade. I didn't realize that I needed to replace both bulbs for it to work- I only replaced one bulb at a time and called them to see if there was something I was missing. I reached a very helpful agent immediately who helped me fix my installation. Buying from American manufacturers has a lot of advantages, and this was certainly one. Highly recommend!

Bought it to replace fluorescent bulb, brighter than original bulb!

It is easy to install. The color is as described. The light intensity is just average: wish it has better spec

The four-pronged male plug pivoted and was so flimsy that when you tried to plug it into the the four holed female power supply, the male part would push INTO the tube. I had to use a plastic counter 'wedge' to allow enough pressure to be applied to actually allow the male and female plug to fully connect. It literally took 30 minutes due to the loose movement of the light's connector. Taking that much time to simply change a light bulb was a bit aggravating, so I hope that it lasts for a LONG time. It is very bright, so that helps counter the annoyance of the connection.

Bought the 16" and 12" version of these to replace the fluorescent bulbs in a house we just purchased. Didn't want to mess with bypassing the ballast and I'm not ready to remodel and replace the fixtures yet. These are great. Plugged right up. I chose the cooler color temperature that's what I prefer but I know most people prefer a warmer color temp for their homes and I believe they have those options as well. Just know when looking at the pictures mine looks that "bright white" because its intended to be. Company has great customer service as well. Had a tracking issue where one bulb didn't arrive with the other, reached out and they reshipped and sent the new tracking info within 24hrs. Will definitely purchase again if any of our other fluorescent bulbs go out before we replace the fixtures.

I was worried that the installation was to simple... but it easily plugged in and lit right up! Caution: The plug from the ballast is meant to only plug into the light in ONE ORIENTATION... if the plug isn't going on to the 4-pins on the light in easil;, rotate the plug 90 degrees. Don't force it... you just have the orientation wrong.

Easy to install, bright. I don't know what effect it will have on the electronic ballast transformer that the original fluorescent tubes would burn out every couple of years. I would be interested in tubes with the same form factor that required a simple (12v?) transformer.
