Dental additive for dogs water
My dog had horrible breath. Only half way through the bottle, there was at least a 75% improvement. I thought maybe they wouldn’t drink it because it smells minty, but both of my dogs drank it right away. Why did you pick this product vs others?:i chose it for the name brand, Nylabone, and for the price.

Works Great
I purchased both the Advanced Oral Care Water Additive and Buddy Cheer Dental Powder to clean my dog’s teeth. The combination has done an amazing job in just a couple of weeks. I couldn’t afford $200 to have the vet clean them, so this was an affordable alternative.

Great product poor shipping.
Love this product but 4-star rating bc Amazon squished into the box and the bottle collapsed at the top. Fortunately, I have the other bottle, so I just transferred the liquid.

Do NOT believe the VETERINARIANS!
Let me share with all of you wet-nosed pet owners a rather elucidatingly telling story about a visit to my vet and our conversation about tartar-removing products.I had been using this product relatively consistently for the past few months with ostensibly no discernible results, to my chagrin.During my dog's annual wellness check-up/exam, I asked my doctor about the condition of my dog's teeth and mentioned that I was using tartar-removal products in tandem with brushing my dog's teeth almost every day. He immediately deprecated all of those products that "claim to remove tartar" because they "don't work," and he suggested that I discontinue usage of these products. (After doing some searching on the web, it turns out that it's not uncommon for vets to decidedly denounce tartar-removal products). My vet added that my dog will likely need to have a cleaning in 1 or 2 years (which entails putting the dog under anesthesia and cleaning her teeth for a couple hundred bucks).Although I was heavily disheartened by the input that the "doctor" had given me, I continued using my tartar-removing Nylabone product as well as Arm & Hammer's "Clinical Dental Pet Care Foam" for the next few days, and GUESS WHAT. After the third day when I went to brush my dog's tooth, I noticed that the HUGE deposit of tartar that had accumulated on one of her canine teeth had COMPLETELY SLID OFF! IT JUST SLID OFF LIKE MAGIC. So DON'T tell me that these products don't work because I've experienced first hand that they do, in fact, work. This is a bona fide testament to how duplicitous some (if not most) veterinarians can be. My mom has continually been telling me that the veterinarian merely feigns affection for your pet and genuinely wants your pet to be alive, but not necessarily healthy, so that the vet can capitalize on the treatments indicated for different diseases/illnesses that manifest. I try to see the good in people and always give them the benefit of the doubt; however, the events that unfolded here evidently indicate that either (1) my vet is an utter imbecile or (2) my vet is, indeed, a sly sleazeball who would rather see my dog undergo expensive treatment that requires anesthesia than see her health improved via substantially safer means (not to mention considerably more economical means). At any rate, I plan on continuing to use Nylabone's "Liquid Tartar Remover" and Arm & Hammer's "Clinical Dental Pet Care Foam" until all of the tartar has been removed from my beloved little doggy's teeth. I've already witnessed prodigious improvement in her oral health; most of the tartar buildup on the right side of her mouth is completely gone, and her breath doesn't stink anymore! I am truly elated at how much my dog's oral health has improved, and once again thoroughly enjoy my dog's kisses. For all those pet owners who don't want to subject their dogs to the dangers of anesthesia or to the risks and complications of using a tartar scraper and attempting to do a superficial tartar scrape, yourself, (which, by the way, doesn't even remove tartar that builds up under the gums), this is what has worked for me:1. Brush your dog's teeth as often as you can throughout the week--of course no more than once or twice a day.2. Use this Nylabone product in your beloved wet-nosed cheerful ball of love's water3. Use Arm & Hammer's "Clinical Dental Pet Care Foam" after brushing your dog's teethLastly, don't lose hope, and HANG IN THERE! Just when you're about to give up, stupendous results may lie right around the corner, as it did for me!Unfortunately, I can't tell you with 100% certainty that my success in reducing tartar on my dog's teeth is attributable solely to this Nylabone product, but I can tell you that this was one of three things that I've instituted in my dog's daily care which may or may not have contributed to my success. However, take comfort in knowing this: It IS possible to remove that rank and unsightly tartar buildup via safe and economical means. And remember, don't believe everything that your vet tells you! As my mother says, "They are regular people who are trying to make money and pay off their mortgages. Don't be so quick to put them up on a pedestal."P.S. In light of recent events, I'm definitely going to change vets. If you're curious as to which vet I used to attend, it was "Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital, Resort & Spa." I'm never going to bring my poor pup there ever again. What's worse is that this wasn't the first offence, either, but that's another story for another time.

Not a hit
Can’t really say if it works or not. I have two cats and three dogs, and only one of the dogs will drink from it. He’s old and kind of dumb, so he forgets he doesn’t like it and takes a few gulps, but after a taste, he stops. The other animals won’t even go near it. I even tasted it myself; it has a very faint hint of mint, not overpowering at all, but I guess it’s still enough to keep all of them away.

From what I can tell over the years, it does what it is supposed to do
I usually get this from the big box pet store chain when I take my dog in to get his nails clipped (once a month). This size bottle runs $12 and typically lasts me the full month or right before (depending on how much water the mutt drinks). Why I never thought to check Amazon for it in the past is beyond me. The same 16 oz bottle was $4-5 cheaper. The BIG bottle was the same price that I pay for the small one at the store!!! I wanted the big bottle but by the time I placed the order, it was no longer eligible for Prime shipping so I got the smaller one instead.I have one of those self-watering 1-gallon dishes that my cat and dog both drink out of and they seem to like the flavor it gives. I use the cap to measure the liquid because really, who can be bothered to actually go get a tablespoon that you would have to wash LOL. I do 3 cap-fulls to the gallon of water (per the bottle, you could go with 4). I cannot honestly say that I have noticed a major change in the dog breath....but hey, he's a dog...they have hot stinky breath. I have been told his is like flowers compared to other dogs so I suppose his could be a whole lot worse...OK not really flowers, don't want to get your hopes up, but noticeably better smelling. I have been giving this to him off and on since he was a puppy (he's now 3 1/2 years old) so I guess I never noticed or paid attention. I don't check his teeth for the tartar buildup or anything but no one has ever said anything other than his teeth are as they should be.As stated above, they seem to enjoy the flavor which is good. I can't afford that much bottled water every week and even filtered, my tap water is disgusting. I notice he will drink more appropriate quantities of water if this is in it which makes me feel better when it's 100+ degrees outside. I am sure it has a bunch of crap in it that I really don't want my dog drinking (sodium laureth sulfate and maybe some others) but I can no longer use my dog-friendly mix of essential oils in its place because they are not cat-friendly and if you have ever tried telling a cat they cannot do something (ie drink from the dog's water bowl with the cat-life-threatening E.O's in it), you know it doesn't work out very well. I do like that it is made in the US...not that that really means anything anymore but hey, at least it's not made in China. I don't see anything on the bottle that says keep away from cats, then again other than the barely noticeable silhouette of a dog on the front of the bottle, and the short explanation about the pH of a dog's saliva on the back, it doesn't say it is specifically for dogs either. I got a kitten about 2 months ago and totally did not think about the water bowl contents. I had a small dish for her but she found his and would no longer drink hers. I have not seen any adverse effects so I am assuming this is pretty safe if your cat and dog share the same bowl like mine do. I'll keep letting her drink it until someone tells me otherwise. There is another brand that the big box store carries made by the big baking soda company. Does all the same stuff but doesn't have the blue/green dye in it. I have bought that in a pinch before but this is cheaper, even without Amazon pricing. Dog seemed to like both of them the same. The no-name brands on Amazon very well could be just as good, or better, and maybe more natural but since I am not familiar with them, I stick to this for now.

100% recommended! 4 reasons why....
☆☆Four benefits☆☆ No negatives!1) Bad breath gone! Which is why we buy it, right?!2) Drinking more H2O! I wasn't sure if mint would repel them so I tested. The first week, put two bowls out-With & without. The "with" bowl emptied! Without" was full! They're averaging 32 oz a day depending on activity & heat. Important since they're small & we live in the desert-Yuma, AZ3) Pee doesn't smell much so if they go accidentally, as many small breeds do, it doesn't stink!4) We have grass in Oregon and it's not burning !Whoop whoop!I recommend!
