Can shave anywhere without water
This razor is of good quality. Easy to turn on/off, easy to clean, and easy to replace batteries. I really like the batteries rather than rechargeable. Some 1-star reviews say that it doesn't shave well. I know what they mean, but you have to learn to use this razor. This razor will not shave a beard or long whiskers easily. It's made to cut short whiskers that are standing up and waiting to be cut. Do this: - move the razor slowly - do not press the razor into your skin - glide the razor gently so as not to bend the whiskers down - listen for it cutting the whiskers Pros of using this razor: - your hands will stay dry - your face will stay dry - you can shave at your desk or anywhere - you will not cut yourself - it's fun Cons of using this razor: - the batteries might run out while you're shaving - it might take longer than shaving with a blade - it's not silent like shaving with a blade - difficult to shave a clean edge like you can with a blade

Great buy, for the price
I got this for my father since he was going on a trip and didn't want to take razors, Shaving cream et cetera with him. The only other time he had an electric razor was big and bulky. He was surprised at how small this was, But how well it worked , and how easy it was to hold and use. It' Saved him a lot of time, In shaving, And he said he got a great shave with no irritation , and it was very comfortable to hold. A great value for the money.

Get's job done for it's purpose
Background: I bought this along with Panasonic ES-LT41-K Men's 3-Blade (Arc 3) Wet/Dry Rechargeable Electric Shaver with Nanotech Blades, Black/Silver so I don't have strong comparison. In the beginning I liked the BRAUN POCKET SHAVER,2xAA,CAP - WASHABLE, M60B little more because I felt it was cutting the hair much more closer. After 5 months of on and off use along with the Panasonic ES-LT41-K, I began to use lot less. Positive: + small & compact --> great for travel use + uses 2 AA battery, easy to replace. + gives very close shave + water proof Negative: - because it uses 2 AA, power isn't so great but it didn't bother me too much - perhaps shaves little too close Experience: In the beginning I liked the feeling of shaving very closely, but later I did not like so much because I have sensitive skin. Even after decent use it appears that I am getting "burns" with this razor, or that I am cutting too short than I should. I've use it in dry and wet condition. It works just fine in dry shave, although takes little longer and not as neat & clean. I shaved in shower with it and had no problem with water proof. Wet shave (also used shaving gel) gave much more clean shave. Conclusion: Never the less it doesn't come close to the great feeling I got as using the Panasonic ES-LT41-K. However, this is unfair comparison because Braun M60B is intended as travel shaver. And as a travel shaver, it performs its function as intended and I have no complaints. Just don't expect shaving experience from more expensive and high performing shaver or razor.

Have the right expectations and this is a good deal
I have gone back and forth on electric razors for years between wanting one and backing off because of some review I saw. I like how close a regular razor works, and would even do a straight blade if I had the patience or the time, but when I saw this and how cheap it was, figured it was worth a try and I have been pleasantly surprised. A lot of the reviews out there are not setting the proper expectations for this product. It is a TRAVEL electric razor, not some high dollar 7 or 9 series Braun (at the time of writing this, they are pretty universally considered the industries best/standard). What can you expect when people compare a $17 razor to a $200+ razor? So with the right expectations, here are some things to note that I like and don't like (and a few comments): 1) It runs on AA batteries. Nothing worse than going on a trip and thinking "nah, I can avoid bringing the charging cable" only to have the built in battery die on you 3 days into the your 7 day trip. With this, pop into the hotel gift shop and grab a set of AA's and you're back in business. 2) This is an electric razor....DO NOT press it hard into your skin! Not only will you wear out the blades and guard, but you risk the razor cutting you. You glide it over your skin so the hairs can go in the guard and be cut by the blade. 3) The built in rotating cover and brush are handy so everything is in one unit while traveling. 4) For $17 (price when I bought it), while traveling if I need to cut weight for my bag or it breaks or it gets lost or forgotten, its not the end of the world. Yeah, it is annoying but I'm not going to let $17 affect my mood or ruin a trip. Taking my family to McDonald's for dinner costs more than that! Skip a meal or 2 like that and eat at your hotel/home and you can buy a replacement with the savings. 5) Don't expect this to be high dollar quality. It will last you awhile but if you use it daily for 6 months or more, you got your value out of it and go buy another one. The replacement blades and cleaning cartridges for the high end Brauns will cost you upwards of $60 a year or more on top of the $200 price tag of the unit...You could get 3 of these travel models for the cost of the maintenance of the 7 series in 12-18 months. And if one of these lasts you 6+ months...3 will last you 18+ months so you just saved yourself the $200 initiation fee to be in the 7 series club and still have an OK shave. 6) It does an OK job for a shave but you can't have a lot of growth so it is a daily use kind of a razor. If I miss a day, its easier to get back to the electric razor routine after using shaving cream and a manual razor for a day. My expectations were accurate for traveling and the convenience of being able to shave while I am going about my business with kids, work, etc which helps me get a few minutes more of sleep at night on those rough days. Not for a daily use product expecting an excellent smooth shave. If that's what you want, my bet is an electric razor is not for you. Remember to have the right expectations for the product and this turns out to be a good deal.

Good choice for traveling, uses AA batteries
I have for years used a Norelco 885RX 3-head shaver. Through multiple rechargeable battery packs and multiple sets of shaver heads, it has worked well -- and still does. However it has never provided shaves as close as I prefer, nor is is very capable of putting a straight edge on my sideburns. And disassembling the shaver to replace the solder-in battery pack is a nuisance; the packs last only a few years and cost as much each as this new Braun M-90. So I'm increasingly dissatisfied with the Norelco but it's certainly reliable. Meantime on travel I use a Braun 370 that provides very close shaves, is much better than the Norelco for sideburns, and uses easily replaceable AA batteries. I would have bought another 370 but it has been superseded by this Braun M-90 which is functionally identical except that it uses a narrower and less convenient trimmer. Will I stick with the new M-90 or go back to the Norelco? The jury is still out on that one. The M-90 has the same deficiency that all foil shavers have: if you miss a whisker for several days it will grow long enough that the shaver will not cut it. You have to use tweezers to pull it out, or use the trimmer. The Norelco doesn't have that problem. So for me it's a trade between the 885RX and the M-90, neither is entirely satisfactory but the Braun is inexpensive enough to be worth a try and at least the replacement batteries aren't an expensive nuisance to replace.

Nifty but disappointing for a Braun
Disappointing. Battery life is very good, although initial batteries were only good for two shaves. Ive had this on multiple trips on the second set of batteries. When they die, they die abruptly, so bring extras. The shaver does not give a clean shave if you dont use it every day and even then its a long repetitive process. It only cuts short stubble against the grain due to its nature as a microfoil razor. Any length at all and it wont shave your whiskers. So despite great battery life and its compact nature (fits easily in shave kit), this one is a no unless you dont mind a long shave once or even twice a day. Cleans up under running water, but you’ll need a brush to clean between the cutters.

Had two battery operated micro shavers before this one...
smaller and more expensive than this one, principally beause it was rechargeable, but it did not work nearly as well. I usually shave with a double blade every other day, but with this shaver, I popped in the 2 provided batteries and shave once a day...easy and just fine...no razor burn...This is so cheap that when the head eventually wears out, I will toss it and just buy another one of these...very convenient...uses 2 AA copper top bats...provided with it. Claims the head can be washed out with water, but not planning on doing that as it comes with a brush, built in the base. Very handy and the head cover is very good...no worry about it coming off in my shaving kit! I have a goatee and mustache so I shave my cheeks and my neck...my neck has a swirling hair pattern and is difficult to shave with either a blade or electric without repeatedly going over it in different directions, but this shaver handles it nicely. I find that using this razor, I only have to shave with my blade razor every 4th day...thus reducing the cost of expensive blade replacements by 75 percent! Won't take long for it to pay for itself!! UPDATE: Just purchased a new M-60 Braun. Just excellent in performance and value! No razor burn and it powers right through my coarsest facial hair. After 10 shaves I am still on the first set of AA batteries. The shave is nearly as close to a quality Gillette safety razor as I have ever encountered with any electric I ever had. A real bargain at this price point!
