Easy to Install and looks nice, but doesn't play well with my case
This was my first water based application screen protector and I was nervous about putting it on. I watched all videos and read the instructions from their website before even purchasing. I have had this screen protector installed for about 4 days.Summary:Pros:* Easy to Install* Bubbles and Imperfections disappear over time as promised (if using without a case)* Clarity is great* Looks nearly invisible with the screen off (unless indents are made)* Self healing does seem to happen (although I'd rather not have it have to self heal indents to begin with and not all will disappear)* Works wonderfully with the Official Nexus 4 Bumper from the Google Play StoreCons:* Some cases may cause air bubbles* Material is soft - fingernails *will* cause indents that can be seen when the screen is off (again, will self heal over time, but not disappear completely. They just become less noticeable and bothersome)* Slight hairline vertical rainbows when examined closely on a white background (this is very minor to me though)Details:* Application and Dust/Bubbles/Imperfections:I've used a lot of dry application screen protectors in the past and I tend to be really perfectionistic about bubbles and dust. This screen protector was a lot easier to put on than expected and while it looked bad at first, within a few hours I could tell the imperfections and streaks were disappearing. I did have one dust speck and a piece of lint, but these did not not cause air bubbles after the protector set. I am actually ok with the dust and lint because, unless you try to brush them off, they actually look like just dust or lint on *top* of the screen protector. Note that if you turn on your screen too soon after installation, you may see a rainbow/static-y effect on the screen. I think this is because the glue is still wet and it disappears quickly once it dries.* Clarity and Screen Responsiveness/Feel:The clarity of this protector is really great. After 12 hours the glue had set and it looked like it wasn't even there, even with the screen off. It looked like the regular glass (at first...see Indents section below for more). If I look very closely, there are two places where there seem to be thin vertical "hairlines" that case a rainbow effect when viewing a white screen, but these are very hard to see unless you look for them so I found this acceptable. The touch responsiveness was same as before. The Nexus 4 has a *very* slick screen so the feel of the screen did change. It became a little stickier but not in a bad way. It actually provided some traction that was needed since the glass itself was so very smooth.* Indents(!!):I used the phone to play a game after the screen protector cured for 16 hours (PewPew, I highly recommend this game!). The game uses on screen joy sticks. Unfortunately, I found that this left fingernail indents on the screen protector that were very noticeable when the screen was off. Keep in mind, I did not use my fingernails to play the game and they are clipped short. It was just the occasional instance during game play when moving my fingers across the screen too quickly that the edges of my nails must have brushed the top of the screen. I was really disappointed since the screen looked *so* good just minutes before. The screen protector is a bit thick and soft so it gets these indents pretty easily. I have read that this is a common issue in wet application protectors. Luckily, after 3 days it seems that the indents are slowly disappearing, and I am just more cautious to use my finger pads during game play so I haven't caused any more indents. The indents are *not* noticeable at all when the screen is on and does not interfere with viewing any content on the screen.* Use with Case:I am using an i-Blason S-line TPU case and I really like the case. I put the case back on the phone a couple hours after install when it seemed the glue had mostly dried. Unfortunately, using the case caused small bubbles to develop around the corners of where the case meets the phone. There is nothing I can do to get rid of these other than to take off the case. Once off, a little rub gets rid of the air bubbles and the protector is perfect again but I like to keep the case on so I tried to deal with it. However, this morning I woke up to find that the upper right hand corner near the front camera cut out had developed such a large air bubble over night that the entire corner right up to and around that cut out had lifted away from the screen. I hadn't even touched the phone all night! Taking off the case and rubbing the protector down quickly resolved the issue, but it seems 2 pieces of lint did get under it during the night, which is really aggravating. I am trying to leave the phone on my desk *out* of the case for a day or so to see if this will allow the protector to set better. I am familiar with the fact that some screen protectors just do not work with some cases so I may have to accept the fact that I may have to get either another protector or another case. I hope not because despite this issue (that I'm hoping will be resolved) I do really like the screen protector.UPDATE: I just received the Official Nexus 4 Bumper from the Google Play store and I am happy to report that the case works wonderfully with the Screen protector. The bumper doesn't actually touch the front screen, but rather wraps snuggly around the sides and has a slight lip over the glass part that never actually touches the screen itself. This means that it does *not* affect this screen protector and now it looks absolutely gorgeous. I was worried about compatibility issues with the bumper so wanted to update so that others know that it is not an issue. I just bought the full body Skinomi so that I can also protect the back while in the bumper. I can tell that the back protector will also not be affected by the bumper. I am very happy with this product!

Seems durable but it has it's issues
This is a review based on my experience with 2 of these things. Skinomi sent me a free 2nd one to review so I'm going to base my review on the experiences I've had with both of them. This was my first wet application protector and like so many others, I was pretty paranoid about letting any liquid get near electronics. Would the water seep down between the screen and edge of the phone? would it get into the speaker by accident? Thankfully it doesn't appear as if anything has been damaged so that's good. The only other screen protectors I've used on my devices have been from the company realook. I think they make the best protectors as they are simple to apply and feel like glass.I contacted them about the nexus 4 and they're still perfecting their protector to accomodate the curved edge of the screen. So with that in mind, I turned to skinomi. With the dry application screens, you usually get 1 shot to get it right. If it's not aligned perfectly, forget about trying to pull it up and re-apply. The odds of getting dust or lint under the protector go up exponentially. So the wet application of the skinomi made it easy to get it lined up. Doing this in the bathroom with the shower/sink running as hot as possible to steam up the room will remove all the floating dust particles. After applying it and rubbing the bubbles out and drying with a microfiber rag, the screen didn't look very good but patience is the key and the instructions say let the phone sit overnight so in the morning, I was pleasantly surprised to see the imperfections were gone. That's where the good experience ended for me.I was using the iblason S design case and as many have noted (and I have noted on my iblason review) the iblason case rubs on the edge of the skinomi removing it from the edges of the phone's screen. So if you're reading this and you have one of the cases that looks like the iblason case, either find a new protector or a new case. These 2 products do not get along.I recently got my ionic guardian case which is WAAAY nicer than the iblason and it wraps around the screen more and doesn't appear to mess with the screen protector at all. So that's a good alternative and also offer much better protection for the phone than the iblason. But I digress...Back to the skinomi. It has a very sticky/rubbery feel to it compared to the realook protectors or the naked screen. That smooth silky feeling is gone and for my personal preferences, it's a bad thing. I like that slick smooth feel. The skinomi I guess due to it's extra thickness or material has a rubbery feel to it and also, the screen is a tad less responsive to my touch. I verified this before applying the 2nd skinomi by going to the developer options in the phone, turning on the on screen pointer options and observing the PRS pressure meter. Without the protector, it will detect all the way down to 0.2 pressure and with the skinomi on the phone, it's only at around 0.50 on average. This makes a big difference in screen responsiveness in that more pressure from your finger is required to navigate. This in my opinion is the biggest problem I have with the skinomi. I have no doubt that it will protect the screen but lets be honest... gorilla glass is incredibly resilient to scratching as it is and if the phone falls, no screen protector is going to save it from getting cracked. Get the ionic guardian for superior impact protection... but for screen protection, this protector is overkill to the point that it makes the phone's screen more cumbersome to use. It may be nice to have on a cheaper screen that doesn't have as good of inherent scratch resistance but for the gorilla glass, skinomi really needs to re-evaluate their design and come up with something that is thinner and more slick/glassy to the touch that will allow better finger pressure to translate to the screen. For comparison, on my nexus 7, the realook protector didn't change the PRS rating at all vs the naked screen. It's probably not the review that skinomi was hoping for but they asked for an honest and unbiased review and I'm being as honest and up front as I can here. It really all boils down to this: the only reason I'm using the skinomi is because realook hasn't released theirs yet. Once they do, the skinomi is coming off. I suspect that many other skinomi users are in the same boat. They're only using the protector because it's the only real option on the market right now.I give it 3 stars because it's easy to apply and align, the air bubbles go away and it feels like it is very durable. Minus 2 stars because it decreases the screen's responsiveness and doesn't feel nice and glassy.
