Camera Microphone, Video Microphone for Dslr Interview Videomic Shotgun Microphones for Canon Nikon Sony Panasonic Fuji

I bought this mic to replace another mic which used a small fiddly button battery. This mic uses an AAA battery which lasts much longer and is easier to handle. I attach the mic to my camcorder when filming soccer which overrides the camcorder's built-in mic and allows me to kill wind noise with the included furry mic cover. The sound picked up with this mic is very good and even picks up the sounds of the ball being kicked or headed at 75 metres distance. I would buy this mic again and I thoroughly recommend it as an entry-level mic.

Tried ot out and all works as should. Volumes vary in what Db setting you have it on. Comes with show mount so fits all those and plugs straight in. Picture of it on my rig. Comes with interchangeable foam or fur filters and battery included.

Not a bad microphone tbh, eats batteries like nobodies business, but the sound is quite good and the dead cat effective against wind. Stars off as the cold shoe port is made of tissue paper and the sides broke off after a couple of uses. Also have the budget Rode, which is better built, but the sound quality is not that much better.

Positives are it's lightweight, and fits on easily without being too bulky, and helps to cut out background (i.e. behind you) and light wind noise. It won't cut out heavy wind though, but at this price point I'm not surprised. At first I didn't think it was much better than my EOS 200d in-built microphone, but after playing videos back on a laptop and listening through a good set of earphones you definitely notice that sound is clearer. Downsides are that I notice a static / hiss but it's not very audible, and this seems to be audible through 'tinny' speakers like the one built into the Canon 200d rather than good speakers / headphones. It also seems to eat through AAA batteries so make sure you have spares with you!

This is a nice, effective microphone for my dslr. Tried it out on Sunday and very pleased with the result so far. Good price for what I need but perhaps a bit plasticky for heavy useage. Came with two wind covers, foam and woolly. Very happy with it.

For the price, currently £32.99 this product is extremely poor in quality. It's all made of plastic and after a few uses the hot shoe has now broken off. The sound is 'okay'. Better than the camera mic, sure, but I think most external mics are going to sound better than the built in mic on the cameras. The reason I think this mic is not worth it's price is because the RODE video mic is now only £49! So instead of buying this cheap crappy quality, you might aswell get the rode mic.

Tested it when I got it seems good. Will be easy to use. Looks neat. Even comes with a battery. Easy to work out. Compact to my camera.

Bought this to use when taking video on my old Canon EOS 550D, it works really well and produces some good sound. Am glad I bought it.

Poor quality. There's a loud hiss in the audio that makes it unusable, and the rest of the sound—what little can be heard—is no better than what my camera's internal mic produces.
