If this is a “down alternative” blanket, why does the tag on mine say “consisting of white down”???

I'm not sure why yours says this. Mine is made by Canada Down Company and says alternative. I have down pillows and when I feel the thickness of the down you can tell it is a synthetic like you would use for making quilts only more softer and spongier. Mine does not have down in it. I live in AZ and so far going into summer we have already hit 100 I find the alternate down very comfortable at night with an fan overhead and air conditioning. It's nice walking up to a soft and fluffy cover to cuddle to. Hope this helps?

How I should wash it for keep the white bright?

Wash it alone without any color material, in hot water and add a tsp. of bleach if you want.
