Made in France stamps; 500ml
Pros:+wide, stable base+easy to clean+bright red watertight lids included+stamped clearly with Luminarc+stamped clearly "made in France" w/500ml marks+seamless sides+clean, smooth rolled lip+wide diameter makes easy to place large adult hands in for cleaning+multiuse+clear, bubble-less, warpless glass+beveled sides help gripCons:-child-sized/small hands need 2 hands to hold-does not nest (secure lids to stack, although does not lock together)Would purchase again, despite having rather small hands myself. Feels sturdy and solid, a joy to drink from and easy to clean. Adore the multipurpose use for these--storage, dessert presentation, daily drinkware. Could possibly go in freezer for a wee bit, although I wouldn't recommend it on a regular basis or to freeze anything solid; think more "keep my dessert's whipped cream from melting before serving everyone." These aren't mugs or ramekins and we wouldn't use them as cookware, but I would use confidently with hot (not boiling) drinks, provided you've a sleeve large enough to place around the glass. I also think they'd be fine in the microwave, provided you're not prone to overheating.Love!

Kitchen Staple...GREAT product!
I ordered these yesterday and got them today. All intact, no breakage at all, and exactly as described. Thank you Goodman's! These glasses are the best. They make a nice "rocks" glass for alcoholic beverages, but that's just the beginning. They're heavy, of fine quality (made in France, not China), and very versatile. They're called "working glasses" because of the well-fitting lids which turn them from a drinking glass into a nice storage container for the fridge. I make a big pot of homemade soup and spoon it into these glasses, cover them, and refrigerate till ready to use. Perfect one serving size. Great storage They feel good in your hand, and their style is classic. For the price, you can't go wrong. I've used them for many years, and was happy to be able to find replacements on Amazon. (They're sturdy, but GLASS. Accidents happen!)

Excellent glasses
I got these glasses because I wanted some smaller storage items to freeze single servings. I have used these glasses several times since I purchased them and found them to be very useful. The glass feels a bit on the light side (in weight) but they are indeed marked "500" which leads me to believe they will hold up as the older ones did. The lids seem very sturdy and they provide a tight fit and seemed to "snap" on. Of course it is also great that I can use easily drinking glasses as well. They are attractive enough that I was at them on my table without hesitation. Overall I think this is a good buy,

Sturdy, High-Quality Addition to Life in the Kitchen ... or on the Go
I've had these working glasses for just a few months now, and have enjoyed their good craftsmanship and functionality. The glasses themselves are sturdy -- something you will notice immediately when you get a good grip on them. Glasses with thin walls and flimsy construction are NOT what you will find with these. They are well-constructed, and even hold up to the occasional clanging up against other glassware in my lunch bag. The added bonus with these glasses is the lids that easily convert them to storage pieces. Want to take your morning oatmeal with you to work? These are just the thing to use to set aside a serving, throw in your lunch bag and head out. They are also fantastic for meal leftovers. As for clean up, that's easy, too. I've had no problems hand washing these or putting both glasses and lids in the dishwasher. These are definitely a 'win' for your kitchen.

The lids are a true asset.
I like several things about these glasses. I like to hand wash my dishes, and I can get into the interior of the glass and scrub it good and clean. So many drinking glasses are tapered, or the glass is so thin, you're afraid to get inside and scrub. They are solid, heavy glasses, and hold as much as taller glasses do. The lids keep my cats from sampling my drink, and I can store half-consumed things my grandchildren leave behind in the fridge. All in all, a handy set to have in the kitchen.

So Many Uses!
These are the perfect size for single portions. I make many things on a weekly basis (Quinoa, chili, oatmeal, beans, hummus) and then put one portion in each jar. All I have to do is take out a jar and they're already pre-portioned and ready to eat. It makes keeping serving sizes under control. These look great, are very easy to clean, and very durable. Also, mine came with the "500 made in France" stamped on the bottom of the glass jars (I've seen reviewers complain that theirs wasn't stamped). Also, I was soooooo happy and relieved that they did not come with any annoying sticky label on the bottom of the glass!!!

Lousy packaging
Product is fine, exactly what I expected, but the first shipment AND the replacement shipment both arrived with one broken glass

Almost perfect, just really wide
I bought these glasses to store my smoothies in the fridge in single portions, and for that purpose they are perfect! The lids are fantastic. They provide an excellent seal. I can shake the glass or hang it upside down and it doesn't leak. The lids come on and off easily without being fiddly. My ONLY gripe is that these glasses are so wide! I have small hands so I have to really stretch my hand a bit to grip it well. I also have to be careful when drinking because of the wide mouth. If I'm drinking a very thick smoothie, my drink travels to the rim of the glass in an area wider than my mouth. Thinner liquids are not a problem.

101 uses!
I simply love these jars and have been using them for years. The place I've been buying them for the past 10 years no longer carries them - so when I found them on Amazon I ordered a box - I want to send some "filled" with things for a friend for Christmas. The jars are very versatile - fill with homemade lemon curd, pesto, pate, cranberry sauce etc etc. You can also use them for drinking glasses...but just having a few on hand will be very handy in your kitchen. I love the size and the lids! I also use one in my freezer for egg whites - easy to take the lid on an off to add to - and the glass is tempered so can stand up to freezing. Cheers....enjoy them!

Perfect for keeping leaven in (but also for those who don't want airtight lids).
I have been looking for something to keep my natural yeast in and these Luminarc jars are perfect for the job.I was a little dubious about the quality but after using them for a good few months now, I've had no breakages and no problems, if anything, I wish I'd found them sooner! The glass is thinner than most jars but I haven't chipped or broken any. I often have to rinse them in boiling water which has not caused the glass to shatter (I never pour boiling water on cold glass anyway). They're also lighter than most jars which, for me, is a good thing. The shape is very similar to, but a little bigger than, the 'Bonne Maman' jam jars sold in most supermarkets. The lids are plastic, flexible and appear flimsy but they haven't distorted even with boiling water poured on them. The thinness has been of benefit really, as I've been able to make small holes in them to allow gas, released from the yeast, to escape. They're not airtight but they do require a little effort to push on and 'peel' off.One little detail I thought was nice, the base of the jars are shaped to fit the lids so that they stack nicely and slightly 'lock' so that they don't easily slide or slip off when tilted a little.I'm not a jam maker but I don't think these jars are for long term storage of jam (as they're not airtight) but rather, everyday storage of jam (or anything else really) that will be consumed soon. These jars would be great for storing leftover ingredients or for keeping things covered (small things mind you) especially if you don't like using too much plastic or want to store things that are greasy that would otherwise stain plastic containers.I think they're a bargain as they come in a pack of six and I've found them to be very useful.

I love these glasses
I love these glasses. They are very well made and the lid fits very well. They may be used for drinks, but they work for any leftovers storage in the fridge, or any other small storage. They are bit larger than they look. The package they came in was very sturdy.

Great storage jars
First of all, the description states that these are "jam jars". This is not what I use them for, and some of the other reviewers have said that they may not be suitable for this purpose.I use these storage jars in the kitchen. They are great for keeping leftovers in the fridge, and I also make my cold brew coffee in them. The jars are nice and solid - like soda glasses with a slight lip. The lids fit really well (I can shake a jar, and none of the liquid escapes).I also use them as glasses if I'm working in the garden. Having the lid means that I don't have to fish insects out of my drink!
