Makes a good seal

This is the best sealer that my husband has found.

The aloe gel is very cold but it made a good temporary seal for my mask. Unfortunately it doesn't last very long and is dry after about 4 hours using a heated, humidified ASV machine. I tend to get up at least once during the night so I took advantage and re-applied the product. If your mask is starting to age and lose it's good seal, this product is worth trying.

I was having issues with my nose pillows leaking when I rolled over or readjusted in bed, no matter how tight I had the head straps. Using the gel leak sealer, I was able to loosen my head straps to a comfortable fit and not have leakage! I use a little on the very inside edges of my nostril, a little around the outside, and also put a little on the edges the nose pillows where they meet my nose (when I say a little, I mean a tiny drop the size of a pencil eraser will cover all 3 areas and you'll have some to wipe off your finger). You can readjust for comfort for a about a minute before it seals. There's no pulling or pain when it's time to take it off and the aloe helped with the discomfort and soreness from the first few weeks of wearing the cpap. I also have really sensitive skin, prone to breakouts and this has not caused any issues. I wish I had found this sooner!!!

I tried another reviewer's suggestion of putting the gel on about ten minutes prior to putting on the mask but the gel still was slimey feeling and it didn't do anything to seal my mask to my face. I tried it with two different sizes of the same mask, plus another style of mask and it failed on all of them.I got fabric mask covers delivered yesterday and had my first night ever of no face farts, no air blowing in my eyes, no waking up in a panic because I couldn't breathe properly. I've been trying different things for 2 years and this is the first time I've had a quiet night's sleep in all that time.The gel failed me as much as any other "solution" has.

The only positive thing I can say about this purchase was shipping was very fast.To be honest I have only used it two nights, but, it did not help with mycpap leaking issues. And, yes it is COLD (and stays cold all night), why, I am not sure.I will continue to use it to see if I can find any tricks to making it work.

I had high hopes for this product. As a new CPAP user, I have been battling facial irritation and acne on my face caused by my full face mask and associated pressure leaks. Loosening the mask leads to worse leaking but tightening the mask leads to discomfort and facial irritation. So, I tried this gel mask sealer to see if it might be a solution. I’ve used it several times now and, while it does seem to help a lot to prevent skin irritation, it does nothing to stop leaks. If anything, leaks are worse because the gel just makes the mask slide around more easily.Bottom line: if you want relief from skin irritation from your CPAP mask, this gel does help. But don’t expect it to stop any air leaks.
