Durable. True to size
I am looking for a trail shoes for my boyfriend as a gift. A friend of mine recommends Columbia so I was searching what is best for him. At first I ordered Puma cause that is his brand but I returned it and ordered Columbia shoes instead. My BF is a 10.5 size and he has a wide feet and since 10.5 wide size is available in Prime try i took a chance. It arrived early I was worried at first it may not fit but nope when my BF tried it on he said it is comfy and perfect. He said he will try to walk around first before we hit the trail😊 I will update my review after he uses them. We’ll see how it goes. 10/6/22 As i promise to update my review, my boyfriend still uses the shoes and his comment never change, “comfy and perfect” for his wide feet. I ordered size 10.5 wide for him since that is his size. How I wish columbia will make less chunky trail shoes for women 😊 thank you Columbia.

Waterproof Tested and Verified
I normally wear an 11 wide but they were tight around the ball of my feet so I replaced with an 11.5 wide for a better fit. I don't have particularly large feet but seems that I have this issue with other manufactures as well and need to order wide to avoid pinching. I bought these to replace a pair of Merrell Moeb II that were well worn and far beyond their ability to keep my feet dry. The two main attributes for me (aside from comfortable fit of course) are true waterproof and good traction on smooth/wet rocks as I live on property with rocky streams and wet trails. Although the Merrell were fully waterproof earlier in their life, I found that the traction on wet rocks was very poor and wanted to try another trusted brand. To test the waterproof ability of the shoes I stood in a shallow section of stream allowing water to rise into the section with laces (see picture). The waterproof liner doesn't come all the way to the top of shoes so I avoided spill-over above the tongue (see picture showing inside shoe and the height of the waterproof liner which covers all of the laces except for the very top set of holes). Although I could feel the cold through the fabric around the toe cap (it appears that the outer fabric does absorb some water), my feet did in fact remain bone dry. Walking through puddles for a week I experienced the same cold sensation but at this early stage the shoes remain 100% waterproof. The traction on smooth/wet rocks was improved noticeably, but of course they are smooth/wet stones so there will always be limits to a shoes grip. So far, I am very pleased with the performance; however, the true test of all waterproof shoes is how long they will continue to offer 100% protection... only time will tell.

AWESOME BOOTS, EXCEPT FOR ONE THING
I love these boots. They look great, they're super warm, and super comfy. Only thing is... they ripped along the side within an hour of wearing them. I'm ordering a new pair hoping it was just a defect, but honestly the heartbreak was so brutal the first time around, I'm not sure I can take it a second time.

These are MY shoes!
Put them on as soon as they arrived, hooked up the dog and went slogging through the snow. Great fit, very comfortable right out of the box. Feet are dry. Snug enough that no snow got in over the top. No moisture got in anywhere. I tried. I have neuropathy in my extremities, (a little present left from chemotherapy) and my feet feel like they're asleep all the time. If I don't keep something on them, they'll feel like they spread to take up the whole room, with round bottoms. Walking makes it worse, and after a while, they feel like they'll bust out of my shoes. I usually wear some good slippers, and just use shoes when I'm out and about. I've had these on all day, and they're as comfortable still as the slippers. I've made a point about being on my feet more than usual today. Great traction on the ice, too. Highly recommend them! They're more comfortable than the Columbia's I've been wearing for 3- 4 years. I've been buying Columbias for maybe 10 years. Their sizing is pretty accurate. (In a time when it seems every shoe maker has their own ideas about what constitutes a size 11, or 10 or 12 or whatever. No standardization any more.)

Great shoes!
When I bought it, I didn't note that it was waterproof. I noted it 1 year after receiving it and it was a good surprise

Nice Overall, But Poor Tread Life
Edit: I'm downgrading a star due to poor tread life. These may be less expensive than Merrill out of the box, but the tread lasts about half as long, making them actually more expensive. I've moved away from Merrill hiking boots because their quality seems to be going downhill. Earlier this year I bought a pair of Columbia Newton Ridge Plus II waterproof boots and really appreciated their heals because the shape really helps absorb any shock as you walk. They have a round contour that is barely noticeable when looking at the heal. These heals look almost identical, but do not have quite the same shape, and do not absorb shock quite as well, but still better than the Merrills. They are however, less expensive and still quite comfortable overall. I walked 8 miles the first two days without any issues, so they broke in easily. I was a bit concerned about having loops at the top for the laces, rather than hooks, but they work quite well. I actually prefer them now. Overall a good second pair of boots to have around, these being cloth and the other Columbia being leather.

Much nicer than expected - great comfort and fit.
First, the shoes appear to be well-made and solid. Initially a little tight, but after about an hour of wear around the house they entered "the comfort zone" with my padded compression socks on. Second I "normally" wear a size 9 and these were perfect. The most IMPORTANT hint on sizing was paying attention to the European size, which was 42. I have other shoes which fit well that ranged from 8-1/2 to 9-1/2, but each one had ONE thing in common - they ALL were European size 42 !! So...I suggest check out your other shoes and go by EUR size and you should have the best shot at a nice fit all other things being equal.

Quedan hermosas incluso para uso diario. Combinan muy bien con jean. La talla coincide. Impermeables totalmente. Siento que quizas para senderismo están muy cómodas pero si resbalan un poquito más que otras de esta misma marca. Sin embargo, super recomendadas para esta actividad, no lastiman las piedras, secado rápido, ligeras, agarran bien en suelo seco.
