Well worth purchasing.
This is one of the best chargers I have ever had. It is small (light in weight), yet very powerful. It has options for lithium, or regular batteries, and different voltage. I was so surprised to find that it repaired my battery that was damaged (unsure why it was damaged), and it worked incredibly well. It also will not allow overcharging -- a very nice feature. Cords are long enough so no need to worry about that. The indicator lights tell you where it is in the charging process, so that is really nice, and turns green when it has completed the process.

NOCO GENIUS5 compared to Schumacher SP1296
I've used Schumacher SP1296 trickle chargers for many years now, on multiple vehicles and pieces of equipment. Recently I switched all of them to the NOCO GENIUS5 and it's better in every way!On all of the Schumacher chargers I've had, (and that's been a LOT of them) the cord has eventually frayed and broken where it exits the charging unit. On the NOCO, the cord has a rubber reinforcement where it exits the unit, extending the life of the cord. I've included photos of the NOCO (black) and the Schumacher (red) for reference. The Schumacher chargers I've had were dependable and functioned well, but their cord design was a major design flaw for me. Multiple times, It forced me to replace the units before I should have needed to buy new ones. The NOCO is slightly heavier and more compact in size than the Schumacher. The control has more functions and is easy to use. The NOCO display is aesthetically more pleasing and easier to read than the Schumacher. The NOCO also has an on/off switch which is nice. I always use the eyelets to connect to the battery. The charger connection to the eyelet cord has a click type plug to lock it in place, unlike the Schumacher which just presses together. Should you want to use the battery clips, the NOCO clips are bigger and stronger than those on the Schumacher. The only negative aspect of the NOCO that I found was that, according to their user manual, "This product is designed to work in ambient temperatures between -4°F and 104°F". This has not been a problem for me, even when used outside in northern Vermont. It does get below zero here, but typically not for extended periods of time. As long as the charger is kept on the battery, and it's always fully charged, that temperature limitation hasn't been an issue for me.Overall, the NOCO GENIUS5 appears to be a higher quality and better built charger than the Schumacher SP1296. I am very satisfied with their product, and I highly recommend it.

Great product - works as advertised
I had a prior trickle charger that just up and stopped working. By the time I realized it, the car battery was dead. Like totally dead. Well, I researched products to restore the battery and recharge it and decided to purchase this one. I followed the instructions on plugging it in, but with a dead battery, I kept my hopes in check. Well, the product lived up to its hype - in less than 1 day my battery was back to full charge and the car cracked over first try! I have it connected now since we don't drive that car very often and this is a smart trickle charger so I feel like it will maintain the battery better. Easy to use and definitely built in safety. The status lights are great too. Definitely worth the money. Would buy again.

Great battery charger
I first got the genius 1 but soon realized I needed to the genius 5 to charge my 100ah marine battery quicker and more efficiently and it does just that. Really good at charging and I like the smart features of this charger. I have no complaints this far. Works great and definitely recommend getting it. Little pricey but if it lasts for years ,it'll be well worth it Because I feel less worried and peace of mind with all the safety features this charger has on it.

Works well. Good quality. Thought it was for under hood permanent install and its not.
It works well. Just thought I'd bought the kind that can be attached under the hood of Cayenne. No room for it in engine compartment so even when hooked up hood doesn't close bc of the cords. Worried about the device being exposed to rain snow so set it on top of tires under wheel well in attempt to protect it. IDK if it's made for rain exposure [may be] but didn't want to risk it shorting out or damaging it from water intrusion. NAPA guys told me that I would not shock myself if the clips are positive and they touch me while standing in rain. Said if shocked it would not be enough to notice or injure self. I bought 3. Well packaged and seems well made. The long cords to negative positive clips are also strong [don't pop off if you move cord] and those cords are long good quality not flimsy cheaply made...but if planning to use outdoors continuously cords are too long to install permanently under hood [unless coiled and secured]. Obviously this wasn't the intended use by manufacturer. I leave them under the hood just sitting on top of wherever I can find space and lower hood. Used during a snowstorm and freezing conditions in December in the PNW with norwester blowing salt water mixed rain non-stop for days, freezing rain snow for weeks and as long as they were powered by HD extension cord [prob overkill bc device amps are low] and kept semi-wet/dry, worked fine. Power outages from grids on mainland were off and on several times and these were not connected via a surge protector. Just plugged into an ext extension cord running under garage door to wall outlet. No issues from outages/surges. LED lights work. Ideally prob best used in garaged vehicles...but they just got tested in Alaskan Aleutians winter- like conditions and still working fine.
