Very durable - with one exception; tap is made from plastic. I replaced mine with a metal version (available online) because I knew it was just a matter of time before it became broken. I had no other issues with this container.

We like to filter our own water with a high quality water filter pitcher, and we no longer use the refrigerator dispenser. I was looking for a non-plastic option to store water in the fridge for easy dispensing, and this is exactly what we needed. We've been using it daily for a little over 2 months, and we haven't had a single problem with it.PROS:* Made of Glass & Stainless Steel - was trying to find something that didn't have plastic parts* Spout was very easy to install - took maybe 5 min or less to open and get it all set up* Dishwasher safe - a must for me!* Dispenses easily - kids use it daily* Doesn't drip or leak - absolutely no mess in my fridge* Good size - I only have to fill it once per day for our familyCONS:* A little heavy when full, but it hasn't really been a problem. I just don't let the kids try to carry it.* The inside part of the spout sticks out into the jar pretty far, so it's impossible to dispense the last 2-3 inches of water, even if you tilt it. Not a problem for me, but something to be aware of.YOU SHOULD KNOW:* You need to know to leave the lid a little loose, and that isn't in the instructions. If you have the lid on tight and use the dispenser, it will create a vacuum and the water will barely trickle out, if at all. If you slightly loosen the lid so it is not air-tight, it works perfectly.* If you plan to use it on the countertop or on a table, you either have to put it on a stand or keep it at the edge of the counter/table.Overall, I LOVE this dispenser and we use it daily. High quality, looks nice, and works perfectly.

The media could not be loaded. These items are all about the spout and lid. The spout itself is made of metal and very good quality, but I was hoping I could find a spigot that opened with an up and down motion instead of right to left. As it is, when I open this spout for water, and the water is low, the entire bottle moves from side to side in the refigerator. I was thinking that flipping the lever up and down would prevent this from happening. I searched for a spigot that opens up and down, but they are all cheap plastic and the water flow is much slower. The glass on all of these is thick enough and that's good. The tin lid is thin with no rubber gasket. I hope it doesn't rust!

Great, works like a charm

This dispenser works well, but there are some quirks. If you want a dispenser that you take straight out of the box, use, and then throw in your dishwasher - this isn’t for you.First, the spigot. The spigot works fine, but you need to assemble the seals and washers correctly as it’s shown in the instructions. It does not come preassembled, and there are ~6 parts you need to put together and mate correctly with the dispenser. Mine doesn’t leak, but I can imagine that if you didn’t assemble it very carefully, it would leak horribly. The spigot has good pressure and the switch easily turns pressure on and off. The flow won’t work if the top of the dispenser is completely screwed on. There needs to be some way for the air to move or it’ll just create a vacuum, but it wasn’t hard to troubleshoot that issue when it happen during the first use. That being said, it shows the level of engineering that went into this that you can’t use it when the top is completely screwed on.This jug is also hand wash only, which again is fine, but you’ll want to make sure to not hit a cold glass dispenser with warm water. The glass is sturdy, but I have no faith that it could withstand any sort of temperature shock. I hand washed it before and after use with very warm water and had no issues - but I was also very careful.In the end, this is a very good looking dispenser that I could get delivered the next morning for $26 - and for that I’m happy with the purchase. If you want more than that, you’ll have to pay more and wait longer for delivery.
