Great read!!
Really enjoyed it, but of course I love anything I can get my hands on that has bible history. I don't agree with the writer when using references that are not used out of the KJV Bible, so make sure you have a good amount of knowledge of the word of God before reading and believing books like these. This one has so far been pretty good. I have purchased several of Ken Johnson's books over the past few months and he does a good job explaining and comparing these writings to the Bible as well as a brief history of where these writings come from. The only thing I don't agree with him is that he uses quotes from other bibles instead of the KJV and he apparently believes that God is Jesus in his personal statements, which is what we would call a "Jesus Only". Other than that it's a good read and a decent price....

lot of math
A good source of dates if you are patient. A bit complex for most of us. Ken Johnson has done a lot of good research

Ancient history buffs will love this book!
Ancient Seder Olam is a chronology from the day of the creation of man to 1948. I found the last few chapters the most exciting, but the rest of the book would have been far more interesting, if I had read the context of the scriptures presented by Dr. Ken Johnson. I'm sure because of space, he only quoted the passage necessary to show the chronology. Even so, I couldn't put the book down. Reading the passages in context would definitely fill it out, and give a far greater, and more exciting understanding of the history of man and, particularly Israel and Judah, for almost 2000 years. Dr. Johnson includes charts to help you follow the chronology. I had already read his Ancient Post-Flood History, which was also a definite help.

Sedar Olam
Seder Olam, which means "order of eternity", was not quite what I expected. This is basically the Book of Jasher with material added by various Jewish priests. (The added material is generally corrected by Doctor Johnson as incorrect or inaccurate.) Read Ken Johnson's book "Ancient Post-Flood History" first, then read this. The chronological tables in the Appendicies alone would make this book a good purchase. When looking for the history of man immediately following the Flood, there are few books to read. This one is one of only four that I found.

A great resource for understanding Biblical timelines
This book is an excellent resource for understanding the Biblical timeline, proven with many biblical quotes, and padded out with extra rabbinical detail.I was most impressed with the fact that the "many mouths" history passed through between Adam and Moses were four: Adam, Methuselah, Shem, Jacob, Amram, Moses. Although I believe this was passed down in writing.

The Origins of the Masoretic Chronology
The Masoretic Text has remarkable divergences with the Septuagint in the chronologies of Genesis 5 & 11. To account for these differences, you must consider the impact the Pharisee treatise Sedar Olam Rabba had on the Jewish communities circa post destruction of the Temple, 70 AD. The Sedar became the official pharisee doctrine in regard to chronological dates, and it affected the Masoretes in their transcription of the ancient Hebrew text. Justin Martyr claimed that the Jews had altered the text in his day (circa 120-160 AD - See Dialogue with Trypho chapters 70f)). Christians should perhaps be aware that the manuscripts were altered. However, the Septuagint was the text used by Jesus and the Apostles 93% of the time in New Testament quotations (See Grant Jones - [...]). [email protected]
