I purchased the black refills. They are smooth to write with, and the color is good. The ink is good and dark. I'm very pleased with the performance. It's also a good value for the money.

We are sadly living in the era of throw-away pens, when many of us can remember refillable, classy pens that you could keep and reuse by such makers as Papermate, Parker, and Cross. Such pens became old friends that you could use for years when refilled. When such pens became hard to impossible to find, their refills likewise became rare and ludicrously expensive. I've seen Cross refills going for close to $10 for one...ridiculous!Fortunately, Cross-compatible pen refills such as these are available, do the job, and are very reasonably priced. They also work well in a variety of pens that require Cross-type screw-in refills. So save yourself a boatload of money, buy these refills, and keep your classy Cross or other twist-type pen proudly functional!

The refills fit the Cross Classic Century pen 8511. Was surprised at how smooth the ink flowed. The blue ink is very dark almost black. Would recommend.

These fit our old cross pen fine. They seem to be lasting a while, and they write smoothly. The price is good and appears to be a good economy option to keep you cross pen rolling.

Great pen refills, use them for my husbands cross pens

I’ve gone thru almost an entire pack of these refills, and I have to say- they’ve been great. Each refill has thoughtfully come with its own rubber bib over the point to keep the ink from drying out till use. And they work, because each refill has worked flawlessly, the ink flowing upon writing almost immediately after screwing it in as a replacement. No furious scribbling to get the ink to flow, and no intermittent blockages once it starts.The screw mechanism that keeps it in place in your Cross pen are smooth and consistent. And though the ink quantity is seemingly noticeably lower than the original OEM refills (they run out of ink a bit faster), each refill has given me clear indication when it has run out of ink and needs to be replaced. No intermittent ink flow, they just run out and go completely dry almost immediately. You will know when it’s time to put in a new one.The point and fineness of these 1.0mm tips is a good average for detailed writing without being too thick and not too fine and faint. It’s just about perfect for signature writing, for example.Given the price, I think that these refills are about the most economical way to keep a frequently used Cross ink pen writing.
