The mtech 151 is almost an exact copy of the cold steel trailmaster is the edge also a convex grind ?

No, although to my knowledge the cold steel is a full flat grind. Though if you really wanted a convex edge, just put one on it by sharpening it with sand paper on a soft yet firm surface.

How thick is the blade. Also how long is the blade and hold a edge ok

The blade is 1/4 inch thick and is 9 1/4 inches long and holds a pretty good edge and is easy to sharpen and maintain. I haven't had any issues with performance.

does this knife have the full tang construction ?

Yes, While the tang extends fully to the end of the handle, the tang is not the full width of the grip as it is enclosed by the rubber handle. My Personal opinion, the knife is every bit as tough as the one cold steel offers. I wouldn't worry about babying this.

Is this a good edc blade? Looking for a nice small knife that will fit well in the pocket.

No it is not. It is a huge knife, close to the size of a Cold Steel Trail Master, which has a 9.5 inch blade, 14.5 inch overall. Get a Condor Bushlore instead or a Kabar Becker BK2. Good luck.
