Is the capacity listed anywhere? The hand warmers tend to use more fuel than lighters, will this hold enough?

it says the capacity is 6 hours for hand warmer, I have measured the plastic funnel canister and its 12 hour capacity is 20ml, that means the volume of this canister is about 10ml, plenty for a lighter, but only 6 hours for the hand warmer, dont get me wrong though its still much better than those charging pieces of garbage.

How long will this hold fluid before it dissipates, or does it keep the fluids until you need it?

It should hold the lighter fluid until you need it; virtually indefinitely. If you are finding that the fluid level has been going down when you are not using it, make sure the o-rings are not damaged and ALL the caps are closed tightly but not too tight. Tightening them too much with something other than your hands could damage the o-rings. Also, do not store it in hot places as the fluid can evaporate and create internal pressure which might lead to loss of fluid, I'm guessing. I keep my canister filled to the brim. I just returned from a 2 month trip and wanted to check if the canister had leaked at all. I did not take my zippo or the canister with me on the trip and it was still full to the brim while the zippo was nearly bone dry. A side note, the canister holds the perfect amount for a full refill of an empty or a nearly empty zippo. Hope this was helpful.

Re MrUSA's "stick an extra flint in that hole where you refill." Little known fact: That's exactly what that hole is for. You should always lift the felt to refill your Zippo. Sometimes the gasket between the bottom reservoir & tip leaks. An easy solution is to use a garden hose gasket. They fit perfectly, create a solid seal and are widely available in your local big-box hardware store (The ones with either Blue or Red themes - you know which one's I'm referring to!). No more needing to refill only to find the fluid evaporated.
