Great Whittle Knife (Use Caution)
A wonderful knife. Holds a great edge. I made several carvings with it. Word of caution! This is NOT a locking blade. I ended up going to the hospital to get my middle finger stitched up because the blade snapped shut while I was carving. My fault for pushing too hard. Safety cut-resistant gloves on both hands is highly recommended! This knife is great for hiking and leisurely whittling. If you're into doing carvings from blocks, go with a fixed blade option.

Best knive you could possibly buy for whittling !EVER!
Best whittling knife ever Especially since you cant get a oar carver anymore comfortable to hold and use blades are stiff but not to hard like people keep saying they must just ha e weak finger nails lol but it's good they are stiff because the blades stay put and you would not want this thing just opening easily especially with kids around because let me tell you sharp holy s**t I have never opened a k ife from the package and it been this sharp and when I say sharp I mean one wrong move with out protection and your getting stitches sharp but that is the best thing about this knife the becuse it's so sharp and the handle is comfortable and ergonomic you have superior control and cutting power best whittling tool money can buy for cutting power control and portability would highly recommend one recommendation to flexcut would be to put a lock on this thing then literally there would be no reason to not buy this knife

Best 2 knife combo
Went for this off a recommendation. I have to say out of the box it’s sharp enough to rough out and detail pine. After an hour of whittling a few passes on the leather it was back and ready for the next project. So I’d say it’s a nice balance of hardness for general use. I heard complaints about how stiff the spring is to hold the knives. With any sort of manliness, it’s not a problem. Comfortable in hand. Lite in the pocket. The inlay is a nice touch as a talking point. Over all a good value for the money. I will be recommending it to friends and enemies.

Quality knife.
I like this knife for a couple of reasons. It's compact (great size and shape for a pocket, sharp out of box and overall seems well built. The only drawbacks to this knife is, it's not quite as comfortable when using for long periods of time compared to using other flex cut fixed blade products. After I bought it / used it, it is obvious that this product is for on the go, and it's great for that. The other thing, is that the knifes are fairly difficult to release from the knife (especially when using cut resistant tape/glove), and they can also fold in on you at times when carving. This is kind of a bummer. The knife however does not have a lot of wiggle in the blades side to side when carving, I feel like that comes along with how difficult it is to engage the blades. While these issues would not keep me from recommending the product, they are worth mentioning.

I think I own three of these…
The Flexcut Whittlin’ Jack is my favorite carving/whittling knife. I stray from time to time to use another detail knife or a hogging (rough cutting) knife - I even have a different model of Flexcut with all the fancy bells and whistles- but each time I pick up my Whittling Jack I’m reminded of why I like it so much. It’s sharp - I just hone it with my strop to keep it that way. It feels nice in my hand. It’s lightweight, so it’s not dragging down my pants if I carry it around in my pocket, plus I can comfortably whittle for hours. The two blade sizes meet all my whittling needs. I love my Flexcut Whittlin’ Jack; it’s why I own three.😁

Scary sharp. Very tight action.
This is my first whittling knife and I had high expectations based off the reviews. Pros: scary sharp. Easily fits in hand. Looks great. Cons: action on both blades is incredibly stiff. No locking mechanism. I would buy another one.

This is not your normal pocket knife
Ok previous reviewers are right about being a little difficult to open. But considering the purpose of this knife its not the easiest to close either. There little back spring which would make the blade close with a 'snap.' This knife is a true wood carving knife with razor sharp blades - and it is ready to use right out of the package. Sharpening the blades are just like Flexcut knives - use a strip with polishing compound. Don use stones. Flex cut sharpening system works. Use It. Strop the blades often as instucted. But as a carver it is in my pocket anywhere I go.

The product works wonderfully and other than it taking about 5 days longer than expected to arrive I had a good experience with this seller.
