my bleached hair wont hold a color tried t18 got purple hair bleached that out leaving my hair almost white what toner should i use?

This is great question I would be happy to assist you with today. Your hair will not hold color as it has been over processed and has the cuticle wide open not allowing pigment to stick to the hair follicle. You would want to replace the pigment that is missing from the hair. If it is white you would want to add a formula with red, copper and yellow as your hairs melanin is missing and it needs a base to stick to. I would also recommend some deep conditioning treatments before coloring your hair again to get some protein back into the hair and to shut that cuticle down along with keeping your hair from getting anymore damage. When you go to color your hair again I would also recommend a Post Service or Post Treatment to shut the cuticle down and then wait 48 hours before shampooing or conditioning after color application. As far as which toner you should use I do not have enough information at this time to assist you with a suggestion. what developer do i have to buy for this?

I get the best results using a 20creme developer. Then when you want tone only, meaning no lift just depositing color and your hair is already lifted (lightened to what you want) then use a 10creme or even a 5. They sell small bottles of them at Sally's. Hope that helps!! :)

Can you use this without developer?

hi!:) ex-cosmo here:p you need to mix wella 050 violet additive with a permanent color as it is not a hair color on its own, as well as with a developer as you have to use to use any chemical hair color, toner, or additive that isnt semi-permanent direct dye like manic panic, punky color, crazy colors, kiss, adore ect.. for permanent silver hair, you use this additive in wella permanent hair color T18, or T15 for a darker slate grey, and it will last you as long as any permanent color, and give you your requested slate silver hair. using this additive alone with a developer isnt recommended as it has to piggy-back onto a permanent hair dye to be effective, and it will just wash out in 2 washes like a demi does. i speak from personal experience, i love this combo on my own hair and learned from making this same mistake and washed my money down the sink by not adding the additive to the permanent hair color:3 10 vol. for permanent hair color, 20 for stubborn greys. hope i helped!!<3

Hello... I apply it with a hair dye brush. I basically use an old bowl to mix the color with my developer and apply it with the brush (much like how they do it in the hair salon).

Covers gray!

I like liquid hair color - easy to mix with developer in a bottle. Shake and go! Easy to apply to hair and spread so you don't miss spots. Excellent coverage of gray. One bottle is sufficient for 1/2 inch growth on thick coarse hair.

Right color on bottle. My mistake

I made a dumb mistake and apologize. I thought 8N was lighter than 9N and mixed the wrong color. I am really very sorrry. Wella products have been excellent and again I apologize. Been using this Wella 8N light blonde for several years. My hair is light blonde, covering gray. Just dyed my roots and about 40 minutes into waiting for it to process (45 min is wait time) I looked in the mirror and the roots were BLACK! I quickly washed out the black and now my hair is crazy looking. Will call Wella when they open to find out what the heck happened; obviously a machine malfunction. I just read earlier about the same thing happening to another person, but never thought it would happen to me. Wella, as far as I know, has not issued a recall on this product. I am returning the other bottles to Amazon. Won't be buying Wella anymore. Back to Clairol. Hope my hairdresser can fix the problem.
