Fossics Butterfly Hanging Lights

I ordered this once, on day one all three butterflies were lit though one flickered. It looked beautiful in my daughter's bedroom but every day one would stop working. I thought maybe it was a fluke, returned product and received refund with no problem. I ordered another one, all three shone brightly but didn't last a week until they stopped lighting up. Had to return again. Don't know how so many people had great results.

My 5yo has had a rough start with kindergarten, its quite a change from being home to now being around all the other kids and their germs, and she has missed days each week over it. We opened up the package and she saw the butterflies on the box and said, "I need this." Lol. Lucky for me, I had batteries already and the other part of my order that came today, magnetic swivel hooks from Madison Supply, made installing these butterflies a total breeze.The quality of the light fixture is better than I expected. The white finish is very clean and modern looking and it features a decorative screw through like a ceiling light fixture, it worked smoothly and I did not have any problem with the piece coming apart like someone else did, and it went back together perfect. First we attached the light to the metal ring on her ceiling light, the magnet is quite strong and felt like it was grabbing the metal, so that worked fine and looked pretty. Then I noticed that the hvac vent in her room is a metal ceiling vent, I told her lets stick it on that and every time the air comes on, the butterflies will dance. My ulterior motive is to keep it up out of the way of grabby hands too. I don't mind dragging a chair over and reaching up to turn it on/off if thats what it takes to keep it safe. Anyway this is a huge hit. She just keeps saying "they're beautiful". They are pretty bright, but she likes it, and her little brother does too, they are hanging out together in her room and giving mom a little break.I took a couple of pictures, one with a bedside table lamp on, one in the dark, so you can get an idea of the brightness. I really like the cordless portability of these lights, especially along with the swivel hook magnet. You could also just use a plant hook and some decorator chain to lower it if you wanted.I purchased this product at a slight discount in exhange for my honest review.

First off, the LEDs in this product are **BRIGHT**. This is usually a great thing, however, it means that unlike the images on the ad, the colors are not soft pastels, but are glaring intense red, blue and green. For a party or outside- great. For a kids bedroom? Might be too bright. A simple solution would be to put a small piece of black electric tape over the base where the LEDs are the brightest which allows the light to be softer.One thing that really did surprise me is it is well built for being used outside! The batteries are located inside the top section and is accessible via unscrewing the bolt that runs through the middle, allowing the two sections to be separated. The top part is larger allowing an overlap that would prevent water from running into the battery compartment. The on/off switch is on the underside and has four settings: On, Flashing, Alternating (each color turns on and off in turn) and Off.One small note that could be improved- when you remove the bolt, the nut on the bottom (which is inside a small white button- but not glued in) can - and will- fall out. Be very careful not to loose it. I did not realize this could happen and it took me a decent length of time to find the white button and nut when they fell, separated and each got lost in different areas. Not fun. However, very easy to prevent if you know it can happen!I received this item in exchange for an honest review.

Although I wasn't quite sure of what to expect, I was hoping that this would work for a 7 year old on the bottom bunk! She wants to be all grown up, but yet that need for a little light from time to time is also needed. She also wanted the new "big kid" look in her room. The days of Princess are leaving and butterflies and unicorns are entering the picture! Be sure to have 3 AAA batteries on hand for when this arrives! As you can see by the pictures, it is pretty straight forward! Open up the top, put in the batteries and let the light show begin. I tried holding it in the closet so the pictures would come out better! Nice and colorful and sure to bring a smile to any kids face! As for quality, it's fine! It is actually nicer than I had expected! So far, two weeks into it and our butterflies are alive and doing well hanging under the top bunk bed!
