Fun little guide book for kids.
After my boys, ages 6 and 8, received a telescope I purchased this book to help us find what to view in the sky. This book is great at guiding us on where to start and what equipment is needed to expand our stargazing fun.

Excellent Astronomy Resource Book
I love the book! It has everything you love about astronomy and more though I wish it had a bit more on the local planets of our universe but that's okay. It went into interesting territory of astronomical thought.

Nice for amateur night sky watcher
I like this little book. I am a sky watcher and although I knew some of what is in this book, some things I didn’t. It’s a nice book.

Getting started with the universe
A gift for kids. Especially with a science inclined parent. The father of the two brothers I gave it to was more excited than I expected.

Not a good tool for stargazing.
This is a very remedial product. It’s not very good at teaching anyone the constellations. It doesn’t even use a full map of the sky, depending on the seasons, it just has a drawing of the Constellations saying what stars make up each Constellation, but there are no points of reference. The descriptions about how you might find a Constellation in the sky are vague; not very scientific or factual. It’s a pretty tough guide to use if you’re going to try to learn the constellations. The art is kind of cute but really not a very good scientific guide. I would not recommend this. I’m sorry I bought two of them. I bought one for a friend so that we could stargaze together, but they are not a good teaching tool. I just missed my return window, so now I cannot return them.

Fascinating book. Comprehensible facts for all.
Fabulous book...As someone who loves looking at skyscape, watching clouds, sunsets and the sky changes from day to night with the stars popping out as constellations start appearing. This book was just what I was looking for.I actually bought it for a friend's birthday to go with his new telescope, but took a peep and couldn't put it down.It has been written in an comprehensible format so I don't need a degree to understand it, yet it is packed with fascinating facts and understandable explanations.I like the way it is written in three sections. One for viewing by the naked eye, the next for further afield and far far away.I can't wait to get out and about, armed with this book on my next camping trip as I'm guaranteed dark skies and a better understanding of what is above.Sarah Baker is quite an inspiration. She has given several helpful tips to improve my stargazing with or without a telescope.Never stop looking up! Thanks Sarah.I love this book.understandable

Best for total beginners
This is a cracking little book. Just perfect for beginners. Just plainly written basics that let you feel like you are star gazing from page 1. Brilliant.
