Good refill!

This is my favorite scribe of all time for doing paint grade base over hard wood. I still use a compass for small or rustic tile and rough stone. Also works for large format tiles with small grout lines, this is the perfect tool for paint grade base. Easy to use, and a great value. Great design and very durable.

It's been a year since I used this on a big project at some friends' place, but it worked very, very well. No regrets. Quite glad I purchased this.

I used to cut shims for each job. No more! This thing is a time saver. Haven’t run out of ink yet but it is nice to be able to buy refills

I am a finish carpenter. I use this for everything, beams, columns, casing, baseboard, anything that needs scribing. I only pull out my compass when it's over 1/2 inch, or scribing into something like rock or other odd shaped items. However thats not often. Also way easier to see on wood especially walnut. The pen gets lose in the holes after awhile but you simply put a slight bend in the pen and it makes it stay and will not affect your your offset. I have tried multiple scribing tools I have liked this the best small light and it works great and takes up little room in my tool belt. I hope they make one that goes up to a inch someday. If the pen pushes in simply place your thumb on the back of the pen and it won't push in. It becomes second nature after awhile.

Bottom plastic seemed to be separating from the aluminum.

Works great, but the ink only last for one room worth of baseboard, so make sure you buy the replacement inks - one for every room
