ABUS 37/70 RK Granit Alloy Steel Padlock, Keyed Different

I am a Lockpicking Lawyer fan, and this is about the best lock that I can possibly afford. I never thought that I would ever own a lock that costs more than $100, but I recently bought a Honda scooter for commuting, and I have to leave it unattended all day long. I really like the scooter and I would hate to lose it. This lock is massive, heavy, and operates as smooth as butter. I don't have a way to attach my scooter to the ground, so I simply clamp this baby onto a rim spoke deep within the wheel well of my rear wheel. I then run a reminder cord up to my handlebars. I also have an old, original Kryptonite u-lock from the 90s that I slap onto the rear wheel as well. Two locks are better than one. It's hard to review a lock, because the main feature of the lock, it's security, cannot be tested by an actual owner. I am actively hoping that it NEVER gets tested. I can really only review the operation of the lock, which is ridiculously simply and effortless. The keys are super cool, slide in perfectly, and turn without any force. It takes seconds to lock my bike. It has been a couple of months now, and the scooter remains unmolested... though I park it in a high traffic area while I'm at work. It is completely out of my sight, but there are many co-workers walking past it throughout the day. I think it would be difficult for a thief to get away with attempting to grind the lock while I'm away. So far so good!

I'm not an expert in locks. I'm an average user and I love high quality durable things. This lock is a beast! It's huge and it's extremely high quality. I've purchased other ABUS locks and I'm in love with them. Everything is tight and locks in place without any wiggle or jerking. They're all made from durable quality steel. This lock came with two keys and a pin card and it can withstand any temperature especially here in TX. They are very expensive - no doubt, but it's a one-time purchase for the rest of your life. If you have serious security needs or need to lock something very valuable, this is the lock to use.

Comically large. The shank is THICK. I have bought three of these padlocks. The shank retainer for one of them fell out or broke, but the lock still works. I feel like the lock price is a bit high for what it is, but clearly worth it - like I said, I bought three. The look is excellent - this padlock looks like a beast of a padlock! Note: The lock is finicky when opening. Unlike trash courtesy locks, this monster will only open when the key is in the right position, and the shank pulls straight out.

I have purchased several of these locks and keyed them all alike. Fantastic product. Heavy. Sturdy. Difficult to pick. Recommended by the lockpicking laywer!!!!

I got it mainly for its size. It's huge! I'm sure if you have a big chain, big hasp, big stuff to protect, this monster will do it for you. I really like the ABUS lock design because the nonstandard keys make it harder to pick...unless you're the Lockpicking Lawyer.

Great lock

I have owned this lock for 2 years approximately. It has been indoors. The lock looks like it is brand new despite many openings and closings. I had to drill out the HASP in my locker in order to make it wide enough for the large diameter shackle, haha. I love this lock and it always opens with a thunderous ker-chunk. Would buy again. 10/10. It has functioned very well, has stayed smooth and seems like it is internally lubricated. It retains the key while it is in the unlocked position, I really like that feature so you do not accidentally lock your key inside of your locker or whatever it is you are putting the lock on. It has a very high pick resistance from what I have seen online and that gives me great confidence. Do not feel worried, just double check the diameter of the HASP you plan to utilize with this lock. If you find it is just barely too large, try reaming your HASP out with a power drill. It should work just fine.

I used this on my front door and the thieves picked the lock within seconds and got in and robbed me!
