Sewing Essentials, Travel Sewing Kit with Scissor and 10 Threaded Needles

I travel for business a lot and quite often end up having to sew things like buttons back on dress shirts while on the road. So having an "emergency kit" like this is essential. While traveling on business two years ago, the hotel I was staying in provided one of these in the room as an amenity. I liked it so much, I threw it in my garment bag.On my last trip I realized it was time to replace it. I was very surprised to find the same exact thing I got in a random hotel 2 years ago on Amazon. So I snagged two of them: one for my garment bag and another for my rolling suitcase. It's 10 pre-threaded needles with 10 different colors of thread. It's also got a safety pin and a couple of spare buttons, all in a nice little plastic case that's perfectly at home bouncing around inside of luggage. It also has a cheap pair of folding scissors. So it's basically everything you need to do quick repairs.If you've ever been in a hotel room with a loose button on your dark colored power suit and all the hotel provides you is a needle and white thread...this little kit is a lifesaver.

I was led to believe that the amount of string would be more than pictured, but I was wrong. This is essentially ten needles and a tiny bunch of string on each one (maybe 3 feet). If they'd mentioned that in the description, instead of leading me to believe it was a lot more string (it's decently thick, which is my problem), I wouldn't have bought it.The good news is that it comes with it's own scissors and is easy to rethread if you accidentally screw up and pull the string out. The bad news is that you run out of string in about twenty minutes of sewing.

I was so excited to be able to purchase this travel kit. I have a lot of trouble threading kneedles, so I thought this would be perfect. I used it the other night to fix a sleeve. I used the black thread--first of all, there was very little thread on the needle. The needle was so thick that I could hardly pull it through the SILK fabric. I am not much of a sewer, but I know that there have to be finer needles around. I was really disppointed in the whole kit The only thing that I liked was the scissors. Don't bother, you will be disappointed!!!

Who doesn't need something like this? I bought several. One for each glove compartment of our cars, one for each suitcase, and a few for stocking stuffers for friends and family. The only complaint I have is that the threaded needles don't stay neatly inside the case once the case is opened.

I ordered this product to replace a set of travel scissors I had for years and lost somewhere along the way. This product is not as well made as my old ones, and the blades are rusty. They'll do in a pinch, but I will continue to look for the better-made ones.

You can get this at any wide-chain grocery story for $1.99; it's not worth the $10 jump in price to have it shipped to you. Product is fine but there's no need to be spending your money unless you'd genuinely be paying more in gas than you would in shipping.

Perfect for my go-bag. small, and works perfect. But, it is not the strongest thread. I like it, because I was able to replace the thread with my own, and the case is reusable.

Subject says it all. Scissors work really well. No real complaints, needles come pre-threaded and it comes with a safety pin. It's a sewing kit.
