Not what I needed, but what I needed is a little odd.
If you have muscular or large calves, these will be a snug fit.If you are a DDR / ITG / dance game enthusiast, these are not what you're looking for. The grip on the bottom of the socks is not in the right places to keep you from sliding around the pads. However, throwing on a basic yoga sock above these with grippy feet will give you a really nicely padded near-barefoot experience. (I do not enjoy shoes.)These are well made, they're just not what I needed for what I'm doing.

Not as good as the Apolla Shocks, but still good.
I'm a dance teacher. I teach 14 classes a week and have been doing so for over 20 years. My feet and ankles definitely needed extra support after all these years. I have been using the Apolla Shocks since 2020. They are almost $40 a pair. I wanted to see if this would be a more economical option. Unfortunately, these can twist during turns and do not have the same compression in the arch and ankles as the other. If you are using them for less time than I am and not turning as much, I do think they're a good affordable option. I do like the "traction" spots and cushioning on these better. My shocks pick up every hair and fuzzy in the studio in the "traction" added on the ball of the foot. It gets gross by the end of the day! As a whole, this is a good option depending on what you need.

Great nonslip socks for a dancer
Bought these socks for my daughter for competition dance. Great socks did not cause her to slip.

Amazing support and quality
I use these for ballet and want to buy 10 more for daily use! Basically, the quality, comfort, and value for money are top-notch. It is NOT slippery, but does allow for turns. For reference, I am a shoe size women’s 7.5 and I bought a medium, and it’s a perfect fit.
