Very powerful illumination. It's effectiveness depends on the quality of your NVD. I used it with my ATN Patriot III Multi Purpose System Gen 3 and it owned the night. I can beam it across the Sacramento river (500 ft. +/-) and see what's on the other side. A Generation 1 NVD device would not fair so well. Take that into account when reading negative reviews about these things. You'll notice most of them mention nothing of what NVD is being used.

reaches out but I found it to be heavy for my purpose. Traded it for the new 1508 model which has a 1 or 2 battery for shorter or longer hunts option and to reduce weight. Comes with multiple heads from 38, 50, 67 and 76mm in 850 or 940nm for any distance shots within reason at night

The lens is wobbly when you zoom in which causes IR beam to not be centered in the scope, which does no good for seeing at night.

Excellent build quality, but this thing seem to have absolutely zero IR output. I turn it on and my night vision scope does not register even the smallest change past a few feet. I was pretty excited about the reviews when I decided to make the purchase and definitely should have saved the packaging because I'd return it in a heartbeat. Now I'm stuck with a very nice looking, expensive and bulky paperweight.

Haven't used the source yet but bought this to replace an existing gun's smaller IR source. Seems like it will do the trick for both close up predator shooting and well as further out hog hunting out on the farm.

This is a very durable light and provides strong IR illumination....I can see clearly at 150 yds in complete darkness using my CCD camera and telephoto lenses set up. (Haven't tried further yet).Supplier customer service is excellent as well.

I combine this with my Xsight, and the night just lights up. Very well made with an adjustable beam. With the right terrain, I can see out past 200 yards. Great value here over the big guys.
