Great buy- sharp & strong.
Nice weight, sharp right it of the box. While I like stiletto knives or some with a little more curve and a slimmer tip - this time I was looking for a stronger metal and an easy open. It delivers on both. Cuts through cardboard with ease. Haven't used it much, yet, but I can tell it's going to be one that I keep close by. The pocket clip IS a little too stiff, not easy to clip on to my hiking pants.

NedFoss Beast is a bargain and great knife.
I'm impressed with this solid knife. Blade deploys smoothly with positive lock-up with zero play. Heavy beast blade is right. I removed the pocket clip as I never use those and reinstalled the hex screws. A leather case would be much nicer but for the price this knife can't be beat.

Excellent Quality
Excellent quality and price. Has a quick release system that is spot on and comes razor sharp. Highly recommended.

My son's opinion
I gave this knife to my son as a gift. The only complaint he had was that the knife's opening was a bit sticky, but he determined that there is a rare-earth magnet in the case that helps hold the blade closed. Otherwise, he is pleased with it. However, he did find that the paracord that came with the knife often got in the way of opening and closing, but it was easy enough to remove without having to cut it off. He added that he was very pleased with the sharpness of the blade, and he didn't have to sharpen it after taking it out of the packaging.

Buy it now.....this or ANY NEDFOSS!
The size and build quality it's that of a much higher priced knife....I've carried Gerber and Kershaw for years.....this brand will be my new EDC.

Even though it’s heavy, the bearing assist opener works flawlessly
I haven’t used it yet, but I can tell you it is very well built it is a heavy knife but it looks like it will last forever once the blade locks there is no free play. I am very happy with it.! The plate is sharp. It comes with a sheath.

Sturdy, massive, smooth action, nearly comical heft.
This will easily fill the most massive of hands. I wear L/XL gloves and this thing sticks out a bit on each end (not obnoxious, it’s just right).Picture for scale, from top, Kershaw Strata XL, Ned Foss Elf (OG), Ned Foss Mermaid (OG), Beast. The detent is a bit firm, but it needs do be for the small sword inside to fully open. When it does open, there is actual recoil from the mass of the blade. I actually laughed out loud from the feeling of it, as did my nephew and a co-worker friend, both of whom are also into knives. It’s not TOO big, but its size is actually funny compared to the other knives in my EDC rotation.Fit and finish would be acceptable on a knife ~$20 more. My only gripe is the clip, it looks a bit cheap and slapped on. I think the deep carry clip they’re using on the new scaled down Beast versions would look great on the full size one, but the existing clip is strong, slides over my jeans easy, and will 100% do the job so I’m not taking off any points for it. If the aesthetics of the clip was a place to save cost to hit the price they did, I’m fine with that.Overall very happy with this knife. I think this was actually my first Ned Foss purchase, and I’m now up to like 6 (Mermaid v1&2, Elf v1, the Donut one, and the wood/damascus one). They’re very competitive at this price point, with interesting/unique designs.
