Be prepared to be careful. And ready for results.
You will need to follow some extra precaution with this one. I have used all kinds of pesticides on my hundreds of plants. It comes with the territory for plant lovers. However, after trying everything on thrips and nothing working, I finally tried something more serious. I was ready to with this year-long battle against thrips.I sprayed all my plants down with horticultural oil and left every one of them outside for a month. I was prepared for serious loss, since none of them shouldn't have full sunlight and I only had space to put them in an area that received a couple of hours of morning-midday sun. I am very happy to report that I only lost 2 plants to the whole ordeal. One agave and one ivy which, was already pretty much done with me anyways. After all of that, I didn't think I saw any thrips, however, I had decimated the population several times over the war and they just kept coming back due to their life cycle. So, I mixed this stuff up. I have WAY too much. It comes sealed in several powder packets that could each treat a whole yard; 300 gallons. I only needed 2 gallons. So, I sat there trying to calculate how little I needed and even tsp was too big of a measurement. I ended up using the end of a coffee stirring stick as the measurement. A couple of stick dips (tiny mountain on the end of the stick) for one gallon. While I wish they would give the ratio to you per gallon instead of per 300, it's still really easy to use considering all the precautions and DIYability (and math, 😅).It seemed to work. Nothing got burned from treatment. I did avoid spraying it on my alocacia Jacklyn since she barely survived the horticultural oil. I've kept her under a glass dome for protection/segregation (I have a small house). I have seen dead bugs in the soil, no gnats, and most important, NO THRIPS on any of the plants I treated with this stuff. I'm contemplating whipping up a mini batch to douse the soil (an actuall treatment option) of the Jacklyn since, under the dome are all kinds of gnats with nowhere to go. Might just throw some sticky tape in there though. The best thing is that it's systemic. It stays treated for a long time. DEATH TO THRIPS AND THEIR STUPID CONVOLUTED LIFE CYCLE.I even sprayed some of the extra sections gallon on my grass that's all mixed with "weeds" (creeping jenny, violet) and in my sweet peas that have another invasive vine growing throughout. This vine and all the flowering weeds were covered in aphids/other sap suckers. Since I sprayed there, everything is bright green again. No sap holes from hungry munchers. Most of my indoor plants are sending out new, happy foliage now. Pretty cool stuff. Just know that it's designed to be extremely toxic; if it'll kill bug cells, it'll be extremely harmful to you/pets/kids while it's drying. Possibly still if they eat the treated vegetation. I'm not sure, and I wouldn't want to find out the hard way.All in all, I'm so glad I bought this stuff. I have enough for years. It works. It's easy (enough). The value for money is definitely solid. If you can be careful and trust yourself with very toxic chemicals, or are desperate enough to save your plant babies, get this product.

Great Product to kill scale infestation
Use this product carefully, wear gloves and avoid skin contact. 1 packet in 10 gallons of water for drench use on magnolia to eliminate cottony scale. Pour carefully and slowly around base of the magnolia. Here in Ohio I do a treatment in early May. Last year was my first use of this product was in June ( this pruduct does not act immediately and watering around the base about a week or so after application helps with product uptake) and the tree was heavily infested with existing scale and new crawlers. About 3 weeks after applying product the ground and sidewalk was covered with dead crawlers and the existinng scale were drying out and dead. I

Kills both on contact and systemically.
For anything you won't eat, from trees to ornamental flowers, this product will eliminate insects both as larvae and as adults. I don't see too many pupae so I don't know. It will work as systemic if you use enough to cover all of the roots; that is, go out to the dripline.I down side to using these water soluble packages is that mixing instructions do not exist for small time users. I see feedback suggesting that amateurs should use some other pesticide or else use the solid imidacloprid granules. I have studied math and statistics in college, but still I was challenged to calculate the mixture for a hose end sprayer. This was a repeat purchase of the water soluble packages. My first purchase turned into a prolonged experiment of increasing concentrations until I got noticeable improvement in eliminating mealybugs. Previously I used the dry granules. It was effective, but more labor intensive than the soluble packages.

How much product to mix
I've been using Bonide Annual Tree & Shrub Insect Control with Systemaxx which contains Imidacloprid as the active ingredient to control azalea lace bug, camelia weevils and various other insects that are eating my plants and shrubs. I use it as a soil drench. The Bonide is pretty straight forward to mix per instructions but I wanted a more cost effective product since I have dozens of plants I need to treat and found this. From several searches, I think I've found a mix formulation for homeowners who want to make smaller batches. Most common mix is 1.6 oz (1 packet) per 300 gallon of water which equals .005 oz per gallon. To get a measure we can understand, .005 oz = .03 teaspoon. .04 teaspoon = 1/8 teaspoon. You can search "1/8 teaspoon" on Amazon and find several stainless steel measuring spoon for under $5. Here's is one I bought; Search on Amazon: Beryler measuring spoon. My math may not be perfect but I think it's pretty close. I hope this helps for those who don't need to mix 300 gallons of product.

Saved My Hemlocks
The last couple of years my Canadian Hemlocks have been under attack by the Woolly Adelgid. I thought I was going to loose my beautiful trees and I came across this product and it took a while but they’re coming back. All you do is drop one of the packets in a gallon of water and shake well. The packet dissolves and pour directly into the roots of the tree. It couldn’t be easier. I’m very happy with this product.

Generic insecticide
Bought this for home garden use (crape myrtle aphids). Large quantity for my purposes. Had to research to determine amount to use for a gallon sprayer. Instructions spell out precautionary measures!

Dangerous. Poorly packaged
Contains several bags with product. Product comes as powder. Super dangerous. Very easy to inhale. If you don't use each bag entirely you might as well throw it away because it is super messy to store one opened. I regret this purchase

Too Early to Tell
The package arrived in good shape and all the packets were intact. The mixture when applied take a full season to find out if it works so I can't comment about it's effectiveness.
