iFi iPower X - Low Noise Power Supply AC/DC Adapter – Upgrade Your Audio/Video/Electronics (5V/3A)

Really impressed with this product. Yes it is expensing especially as it was £6 less than the aiyama t20 pre amp it is plugged into but i do believe it's made a positive change and whether it's my brain or my ears telling me I am happy. I hear more detail in the top frequencies especially but more detail generally. Bass feel a little tighter. BUT these are tiny details, introducing this will not make night and day difference and it's an incredibly difficult to spot. If, like me, you sit and listen intently to music for hours, you may just catch the occasional detail that you hadn't heard before and that is what it's all about. The plug also looks pretty cool with the white backlight also. If you don't believe or have any doubt about whether you think it will make a dfference don't buy it. My brain supported and was excited for this upgrade and I am sure that helped but hand on my heart it sprinkled a little tiny bit of special onto my listening experience.

The iFi iPower X Low Noise Power 12 v Supply was used to power a Buffalo CD/DVD burner which was feeding my Auralic Aries (linear PS version). It's main purpose was for playing CD's which was a new feature Auralic had added. The IFi Power X supply made an immediate uptick in sound quality as stated would happen by Auralic. However the sound quality made an even bigger leap forward when a Wyred for Sound "Recovery" unit powered by another 9v LPS was added. CD reproduction is now of the highest order and compares to some of best players I have used such as Wadia and Ayre. All through a low cost burner but now with the advantages of low noise power aided by a USB data re-clocking device. The iFi iPower X Low Noise Power Supply created the sound quality initial leverage in this process. It is expensive and iFi's product quality assurance has yet to convince me after two previous product failures. That said: This product is a winner!

Not cheap, I now have 3, 1 on ifi zen 3 phono, transformational to sound quality over supplied cheap wall mart. I have 2 very revealing high end systems, so the power supply difference is very noticeable. On an unrevealing basic system it may seem to make little difference. And given it's price would seem a waste of cash. The other 2 are on the douk meters (the round ones). They have turned them from fun meter bling to quite usable input expanders, with little loss in musical quality. Good kit but pricey. Worth it to me. A bit cheaper it would be 5 stars.

I had already tried a iFi Power 2 on the DAC, which improved dynamics and detail relative to using a 30W USB 3-Port Mains Adapter Plug which I had purchased to power both a Wiim mini and a S.M.S.L Sanskrit 10th MKⅢDAC. Purchased the iFi Power X to use on the DAC and move the Power 2 onto the Wiim Mini. Much bigger improvement with the Power X on the DAC than the Power 2 . Sound was more spacious, fuller in the bass, significant increase in detail. These improvements were really unexpected. The sound from Amazon HD streaming is really impressive via this combination of Wiim mini, S.M.S.L Sanskrit 10th MKⅢ and iFi psu's (also QED Performance Graphite Optical Cable 1.5 m used between Wiim mini and DAC) If you have a usb powered DAC this psu is definitely worth the asking price.

I bought this PSU for my ifi Zen DAC (v2) which by default takes its power from the USB circuit of the connected music streamer, in my case a Raspberry Pi running MoOde. Having connected the PSU I immediately noticed a huge improvement to the soundstage of my system as well as an improvement in clarity and separation of the different instruments. £109 is a large investment for a PSU and I was more than ready to return it if I didn't feel it was worthwhile but it didn't take long to realise the improvement to my listening experience this made was well worth the money. I haven't done any A to B testing with other PSUs and it may be that the addition of any PSU to the Zen DAC would be beneficial but the iPower X has a a significant number of features that are designed to give you the best possible power delivery to sensitive electronic equipment and from my personal experience it works incredibly well and I'd be more than happy to recommend it.

Not going to lie I didnt expect much from this.. but when I say it is nevessary for anyone who cares about their audiophile setup I mean ITS NECESSARY. My K5pro amp hasnt sounded this good ever. Just testing this now with ananda nano and my god the sound is so much cleaner and the texture is much more pronounced. I thought at first this will only lower the noise level but its done much more for me, from what I can hear anyway. I haven’t even done a direct comparison I just put my headphones on after replacing the old power cables for the amp and immediately noticed the difference so would say it is significant and not a placebo. Quite expensive but for what it did for me I would say absolutely worth it. One note, you guys might find this makes the soundtrack a bit darker and increases the soundstage … for my ananda nano this was a great pairing as they are a tad bright for me and this was a good addition.

Product had a very positive effect on the sound quality. Background is now more silent. Mids and highs are clearer. The only problem with the product was the socket. I ordered from Amazon uk since there is no stock germany. I know the product has a replaceable socket. I thought there would be switchable multiple socket adapters. But it only has a uk socket adapter. I contacted support for an additional purchase for a eu adapter. Process took sooo long and socket adapter is very expensive including also additional shipping costs etc. I would expect such a product to come with multiple adapters since this a common practice for high qualitya products.

Ich habe dieses Netzteil an einem Zen Air Can!?!? angeschlossen. Und ja, das Netzteil ist teurer als der Eigentliche KH Verstärker. Kommen wir aber mal zu dem: Warum dieses Netzteil? Beim Air Can ist leider nur ein USB Adapter dabei. Über den PC USB eine Katastrophe. Der KH Verstärker war zwar lauter, klanglich aber schlechter als mein integrierter PC Sound. Günstige Netzteile brachten auch nur eine leichte Besserung. Erst ein 3A USB Handy Netzteil funktionierte zufriedenstellend. Der nächste Schritt war ein entsprechender DAC um den Sound noch ein bisschen zu verbessern. Nach diversen Tests mit MF V90 Dac, Dacmagic 100 und Dac Box S2 ist es der Zen Dac Signature geworden. Dieser wurde nun mit diesem Netzteil ausgeliefert, so dass es nahe lag es mal an dem Air Can zu testen. Der Unterschied war deutlich zu hören. Also bestellt. Der Finale Test am Zen Dac Signature und Zen Air Can (beide jetzt mit dem iPower X) glich dann schon fast einer Offenbarung, dem Air Can wuchsen richtig Flügel. Ich möchte mich nicht mit diesem dynamischer, detailreicher, breiter oder tiefer Geschwafel aufhalten. Ein gutes Netzteil hat immer seine Daseinsberechtigung. Nicht umsonst legen HIFI Hersteller bei ihren Komponenten sehr viel Wert drauf. Und genau so verhält es sich mit dem Ifi iPower X. Ich selbst vermag nicht zu analysieren, ob die Elektronik oder sonst etwas gut oder schlecht ist. Ich kann nur sagen, dass das Netzteil bei mir super funktioniert und zur Klangverbesserung beiträgt. Von mir eine klare Empfehlung. Meine Hardware: Asus MB mit RealTec HD Sound, KH Hifiman Deva Pro wired balanced, Ifi Zen Dac Signature, Ifi Zen Air Can, Nubert NuPro Aktiv LS, Oelbach Verkabelung

Ciao, sono veramente sodisfatto del prodotto " ifi", abbinandolo ad un'altro prodotto della stessa casa produttrice, come Zen Stream, Zen Dac , evidenzia un suono meno invaso da disturbi di segnale Elettrico. Grazie....Consigliato

De doos die ik ontving was al open geweest. Te zien aan een los stikker. Waarschijnlijk terug gestuurd omdat de voeding niet werkt. De verkoper verkocht de voeding zonder te testen weer aan mij. Testen is in dit geval in een 230V contactdoos duwen. Als ze dit gedaan zouden hebben hadden ze gezien dat de LEDs niet oplichten en er ook geen 5V uit komt. Niet erg moeilijk maar niet gedaan. Bij mij werkte de voeding dus ook niet. Ik heb de 230V eu-stekker verwijdert en 230V direkt op de contacten gezet en de voeding werkt weer. Mijn conclusie is de verkoper zeugt maar ifi ook door zo'n zwakke stekker verbinding te maken.

Lo probé y lo Devolví Pq no quería gastar más y porque comparado con el inferior, la diferencia de ruido es ínfima y solo en volúmenes del 90% al 100%, no note mejoría en dinámica o espacio o graves más definidos y tal, así que eso, es buenísimo y recomendable si Quieres pagar por ese poco mejor audiofilo! 😅 👌🏽
