Sound=2, Construction=3, Value=4,
PROS: cheap, lightweight, 5 earpiecesCONS: sound quality, earpiece textureI'm not sure what I expected here. Perhaps to much, going by the reviews.I expected slightly enhanced bass, perhaps like my trusty old Sonys (MDR-EX51?) or even my Shure SE215s. But due to the overwhelming bass, they have an overall muffled, muddy sound. Forget "tight bass".The mids and high frequencies are there, so you can get used to the sound and still enjoy the music itself. I would not use these for listening to voice-centric material (books, speeches, etc.).Even though they came with 5 earpieces, I had trouble getting a good fit from any of them. The texture of the earpiece material seemed rough by comparison with other brand/models, making them a little harder to insert. After being inserted, they did stay put, but not better that some others I've tried.So, could I have expected anything better for $13? No.

Good value for the money; backup earphones
These are backup earbuds I keep in my pack. They work fine and are a good bargain.They aren't GREAT or anything. I noticed that I have to have the volume turned up *significantly* on my iPod to achieve a sound level that is set lower on any other headphone. This might use up more battery. They also have just average bass. This is fine for podcasts but I suspect you will notice the sound quality is lower if you listen to music that has a lot of bass.But they are comfortable, light, and fit snugly in my ear (lots of tips included). They are also small and unobtrusive; people don't realize I'm wearing them. That can be a plus or minus, depending on your own situation.

Good entry-level IEM
I bought these for my son last October (2013) as back-up headphones. For $9.90 with a metal housing, I figured I couldn't go wrong. So far, in listening to them, I am impressed based on the price I paid. His primary headphones right now are LG Quadbeat's (420) that I paid around $10 for brand new from LG. That being said, here are some observations about these IEM's.- V-shaped signature with strong bass and treble and somewhat recessed mids. The bass sounds more like mid-bass, so it still sounds warm.- The bass gets boomy on certain tracks and the treble can be sibilant, depending on the song. There appears to be a higher portion of the treble missing to me (roll-off?)- I find some songs enjoyable and others tiring, depending on the level of treble and bass.- The metal housings are very sturdy and the strain reliefs seem to be pretty durable.- The wire has little noise but has a lot of memory. It does seem to lessen as you use the wire, but when you initially take out the headphones, the wire retains a kinked/bent shape for some time.- Isolation is decent and these seem to insert fairly deep. The vent in the back does seem to reduce the isolation some.- I noticed the bass level to decrease dramatically if I did not get a good seal/insertion depth.Overall, I find the headphones to be well made and enjoyable for the price. If I was to pay $30 for these, there are better deals to be had. For the price, these are pretty good.

NOT LOUD AT ALL
these came in the mail today and I will be returning today. Its unfortunate because I was really anticipating some great sound from these things and I was very disappointed. The package for these came in right as I was leaving the house. My husband was excited to test them out, When I got home a few minutes later he was back to using his old earphones. The sound wasn't LOUD AT ALL, No Boom, No Base. Its sad but true, we will be returning these today.

Exactly what I wanted!
I am totally in love with these headphones. Excellent build quality and sound for such a reasonable price. The cord is extra thick and easy to untangle, they don't get knotted like cheaper headphone wires. Well constructed metal housing with a small diameter that makes them extra comfortable even if you have really small ear canals. But just because it has a small 6.8mm driver doesn't mean it skimps on depth of sound, no. Sound is big, clear and lively with a boosted bass that makes any music come alive.They sounded excellent right out of the box, which has improved as I break them in. I tested them with movies, games and many different types of music (electronic, indie, rock, rap, metal, folk, oldies) and these headphones have handled it all deftly. I've owned many different brands, comparing the M16s sound to other headphones, they win over almost all in this price range. I had a pair of MEElectronics M9P In-Ear 3.5mm Headphone with Control/Talk for iPhone/iPod/Android/Blackberry (New Version with Updated Microphone) right before this and liked their sound very much. (I had issues with my laptop and the mic so I ended up exchanging them for the M16s.) When you compare the two together, they are both a wonderful value for the quality but I prefer the M16s bright, cleaner sound that manages not to compromise any of the lower range in songs with heavy bass.The M16s come with a shirt clip and four pairs of silicone ear tips in S,M,L and the biflange pair. I use the small size and I almost forget they are in sometimes. (My ear canals are small so its not easy to find a pair that are comfortable for very long.) I can even sleep with them in for hours, never experiencing any discomfort, which is a huge plus. Great headphones, I'm so very pleased with them. I don't think I could have done better.

a bit fragile for being made of metal...
I was excited to buy these headphones because my other ones had been wearing down, but within a couple days of buying these, the metal parts detached from one another. I used this for regular use: wearing them on my daily commute to school. I'll give the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe I got that one "dud" product. I think I'm going to buy some superglue and see what I can do to hold these headphones together.

Questionable quality
It was my first time trying theses so I can't tell if they suck overall or I got a bad pair. One side is much quieter than the other. Overall volume is low than some of my skull candy buds. Regret trying them.
