I recently purchased the Elikliv LCD Digital Coin Microscope (EDM4), and it has exceeded my expectations in many ways. As a coin collector, I needed a reliable tool to inspect the finer details of my collection, and this microscope delivered. Design and Build Quality The 4.3-inch LCD screen is bright and clear, making it easy to see the details of coins without straining my eyes. The build feels sturdy for its price point, and the adjustable stand is a great feature for getting the right angle and focus. Performance The magnification goes up to 1000x, which is more than enough for my needs. I was able to inspect mint marks, imperfections, and other intricate details on coins effortlessly. The image quality is sharp, especially when the 8 adjustable LED lights are properly positioned. These lights are a game-changer for ensuring consistent illumination, even in low-light conditions. Ease of Use Setting up the microscope was straightforward. It’s plug-and-play for both my Windows laptop and my MacBook, which was a pleasant surprise. I could easily switch between viewing on the LCD screen and using the PC view to save images or share details with fellow collectors. Versatility While I bought it primarily for coin inspection, I’ve found it useful for other hobbies like examining stamps and small electronic components. The adjustable magnification and ability to save images on my computer make it versatile for various tasks. A Few Minor Downsides The only thing I wish was improved is the height adjustment mechanism, which can be a bit stiff at times. Also, while the screen size is sufficient, a slightly larger display would have been a nice touch. Conclusion Overall, the Elikliv EDM4 is an excellent tool for hobbyists and professionals alike. It combines affordability, functionality, and ease of use into one compact package. If you're a coin collector or someone who works with small objects regularly, I highly recommend this microscope. I got this on a deal price and so really didn’t expect much from it at all, but was in fact genuinely amazed at how good it actually is. I’ve bought this to assist with my electronics but as it’s marketed as a coin microscope, I chucked 100 Japanese Yen under it to test it and was blown away. The image is nice and bright and clear. It’s easy to get into focus. It’s exactly just what I needed.

The only downside was the fact that somehow I missed the price was excluding VAT!! The microscope itself is excellent. I use use it with my stamp collection to pick up varieties in early imperforate issues (see image of BS2b double H and O flaw on black AS47). It works fine with a mac and Photo Booth, but it does suffer from the annoying image reversal common with this software, however it can be resolved in the software when capturing images. All in all, very impressed for the price and a worthwhile investment.

This is so handy, from pulling splinters to examining soilder joints. My only complaint is the stand is pretty flimsy and doesn’t have much weight. I’ll probably machine a replacement stand.

Great entry level microscope. I use it for hobby work, electronics and checking my record player stylus for damage. Easy to set up and use and I find screen adequate. I bought a micro sd card and this feature works well.

Very impressed with this item. I was dubious but was pleasantly surprised. Magnification is excellent & screen is very clear. Built in lights give good even illumination and help to make the objects stand out. For the price I paid £32 this gets 10/10. Lots of interesting things to observed from coins to leaves. Great present for a child ( or curious adult ).

Bought for my teenage son at Xmas, as he has started to take an interest in watch repairs. This product is easy to use & due to the screen size makes the parts so much more visible. Happy with purchase.

I use this a lot to examine my metal detecting finds. Easy to focus and zoom. The zoom is either by the limited travel of the winder and/or by moving the holder up and down the stand's metal tube. Handy to be able to capture image on SD card and have used this to record hallmarks and other details. Packs away in the original cardboard box and tray when not in use. Has it's own rechargeable power source and light. Don't expect to see all of the coin at once even on the lowest magnification .
