I was a little concerned by the many reviews complaining about distortion when I was considering buying this. I am glad I selected it anyway. It's very nice. Well packaged, sturdily made and gives very good enlargement of small print. The website tells you to hold it at least 2-3 inches above the print, and when you hold it a little farther away (4-6 inches) the print becomes even larger. It is clear edge to edge. The only time I've noticed the print curving on the edge a little is when the paper you are looking at is curved (such as a page as it comes out of the spine of a book). That is not the fault of the magnifying glass. I am very happy with it.

I bought this for my elderly mother to help her read the thermostat, but unfortunately, the magnification wasn’t strong enough for that specific use. It’s a nice, wide lens and might work well for reading books or labels, just not for very small print.

Perfect size for reading books, etc. lightweight.

THIS IS A BIG HELP AND WORKS GREAT. IT WOULD BE AWESOME IF THEY OFFERED A SLEEVE OR SOMETHING YOU CAN PURCHASE WITH THE MAGNIFYING GLASS TO PROTECT IT FROM SCRATCHES WHEN NOT IN USE. I KEPT THE WHITE FOAM-LIKE SLEEVE THE MANUFACTURER SHIPS THEM IN FOR THIS PURPOSE.

This glass has the magnification I use most often. Have had 7 of these starting 2 or more years ago, not because they break easily but so I can always easily find them. In the last delivery, a week ago, they included an extra 2 or 3 lightweight magnifiers with plastic lenses that are also useful.
